I say alot of those apps are template based and not original.. I do not recommend vectorizing a raster image thats just like blowing up a 72 dpi image to 1200 dpi in Ps.. Alot of raster apps now have vector capabilities... BUT if you really need to use Flash it a mix of both worlds..

I have to agree that Raster to Vector is not such a good idea for most cases. Most of the time it clutters the document with unnecessary shapes and bits, which makes it difficult to work with. For example (out of personal experience), designs like these are a nightmare for CMYK press printing, where the color plates need to be manually aligned. They might look good if they are to be used online or for a simpler purpose, but a bad choice overall.
Furthermore, raster tracing is OK but leave space for cleanup after it's all said and done.
As for the Logomaker Softwares, I think they're an excellent vault of inspiration, but as Dskwkrs said, they are template based and lack originality.
