As some of you that are using corel draw might be familiar with this, but i still want to confirm it.
Under the drop down manu of effects there are few effect, like bevel and all, but we are not able to apply it to the text..why?
Moreover, if we convert our design or text into bitmap then those options comes in effect. I need to know if What i am thinking is right ? Has someone else has came across this?

Hello raghav,
i think I have an answer to your question..But first of all I'd like to tell you that I'm not really an expert.. i just want to share to you things I kno about it..I am using right now a corelDraw X3 version..Ok this are the few things to consider, the bitmap object and the vector objects(vectors like shapes, and curves etc.)..The Effects youive tol serves both bitmap and vector objetcs but the bevel and lens especially is intended for vector objects. The adjust, Transform and correction under effects menu is intended for bitmap objects. Bitmap Effects may be found on the Bitmap menu, all things there for bitmap object.
Text is different from vector and bitmap object, it is another object, a text object.. You cant apply those from effects and bitmap menu..for you to apply those bevel effects from the Effects menu or the Bitmap menu you have to convert it just like what you did with the bitmap. The other way of applying it is by converting those text to curve object. If you do, You may now apply the bevel effects from Effects menu.. (Im using a pc, to convert a shape or a text to curve, Press Ctrl +Q)
Hope this answered your question..

But i was more concern about the effect that can be applied to the text without actually converting it into curves which is what i suppose coreldraw cannot provide.
I am very much satisfied with your answer as well, but making it a bitmap or curve restricts the editability of the text and which is why photoshop is preffered or even illustrator.
