Both are great and when used together, pack a mean punch!
Illustrator is more specialised for things like Logos and vector images. That makes it great for making cool vector shapes to work with in Photoshop.
I usually start in Illustrator and touch up my work in Photoshop.
It's all about the pipeline!

Is Adobe Photoshop better than AI?
While they serve different purposes, Photoshop and AI can be used together effectively. For example, you could use Photoshop to edit a photo and then import it into AI to add vector elements like text or shapes.

Rather than focusing on which tool is "better," you should consider which is more appropriate for your job. For example, I'm satisfied with using Photoshop to produce better results than AI, as my profession involves photo editing and a hand-drawn clipping path service. However, on my intended route, I saw that AI did not provide any better results.
