This is good for comparing many fonts at once, if maybe you are looking for which font would look best for a logo. You can pick as many or as few to view as you like, change the font size, tracking, and you can even print it and see what it looks like on paper.

I've only ever used Suitcase Fusion, so I don't really have experience using others.Do you guys know of a really good free or cheap desktop font viewer, I've used a few but they are fundamentally limited in some way. I'm thinking of coding my own but if there's a really good cheap one it may not be worth the time.
I guess it depends on what you want out of a font viewer/manager
