For those of you who are too lazy downloading fonts manually, there's an addon for (at least) Photoshop and Illustrator called "Extensis" which loads Google fonts for you to use. No need to download!
You will be equipped with a tab in illustrator or photoshop with an overview of each font (like the normal view for fonts - with names and a sample preview). Works like a charm for me if I need new fonts for every logo or other design I do.
