What are your favorite sans serif fonts and favorite serif?

I really like Estrangelo Edessa for sans, and Cinzel and (over used) Trajan Pro - all caps.

Also, how do you feel about the future of fonts? Will they just repeat (like a cycle) or maybe morph into something new?

I'm new here, and I simply want to get better.

I think forces that should drive you on font selection should be the type of logo you are designing.
Most co-oprate logos have serifs, the same cannot be said about companies dealing with baby stuff.

Each design has a unique approach, but once you clearly understand the brief.........smooth sailing!

Sans serif: Montserrat! Kind of Helvetica, Arial-ish but has more personality.
Serif: Probably Riven or Trajan. Also Garamond. Well, i don't know where to stop!
Font's will keep devoloping. If any new approaches? Probably, but most of the base types are probably already out there somewhere.

i agree with lutta that the type of logo design direction is the guide for you to serif or sans as well
