What do you use for 3D graphics? Of course Maya and 3DS Max are best, but I think AC3D (ac3d.org) is...

What do you use for 3D graphics? Of course Maya and 3DS Max are best, but I think AC3D (ac3d.org) is the best for the price. It lacks many features, but it is still very powerful. I'm still learning to use it, but it's great so far

I dont do 3D modelling or anything related.
I only do 2D in my beloved Photoshop.
I've heard that 3DSMAX and Lightwave is very good, well, they are most known ones.
Maya is the best I think but it's VERY VERY expensive.

I haven't really done any 3d. I downloaded a free program[blender] a few days a go and don't even know what to do. Uninstalled it though yesterday. There are quite a few free ones though that I think I will be trying out.

Fred, but who even buys there software anymore? Honestly, Kazaa and other programs of there ilk have forever changed how people get their software, along with the cd burner. Anyways, I want to learn how to do 3D rendering, but is it really hard to enter, or just to get good at it?

I have one Fred. To me it isn't worth the risk using P2P software, they have been cracking down on people that trade big-name software (as they should). If you want a free / cheap industrial strength 3d modeling / render program try http://www.strata.com/

g-max is good too (tough you cant render with it)

without all the plug-ins cinema4d isnt that expensive, couple of design jobs u will get ur money back, slowly u can then get the add ons
...or suppose u could just get cracked version <_<
michael photoshop isnt really difficult, like karl472001 said just try the tuts

cinema4d is one of the cheap 3d programs..
I believe u can already get the beginner c4d pack for less than 200$ now
