I only do 2D in my beloved Photoshop.
I've heard that 3DSMAX and Lightwave is very good, well, they are most known ones.
Maya is the best I think but it's VERY VERY expensive.

Fred, but who even buys there software anymore? Honestly, Kazaa and other programs of there ilk have forever changed how people get their software, along with the cd burner. Anyways, I want to learn how to do 3D rendering, but is it really hard to enter, or just to get good at it?

michael photoshop isnt really difficult, like karl472001 said just try the tuts
