I've just "installed" vbulletin v 2.3.2, but I got two messages printed above the header of the admin login page:
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at C:\localserver\admin\db_mysql.php:451) in C:\localserver\admin\functions.php on line 1707
And when I try to log on to the admin control panel, it chucks me back to the login page and says "You are either not a valid administrator or have not logged in.", can anybody help me out?
a problem

This is a fresh install, no hacks or modifications?
Likely you have an extra " " white space somewhere.. this is outputting before the headers so is messing up the cookies.
Since this is a fresh install, the most common place to look would be the config.php file that you had to modify. Look around for that extra white space.. top or bottom of the file, after the ?> .. extra lines at the bottom?
That should get it,

Thanks for the feed back vBMechanic, I didn't download it from vbulletin, think it might have been a modified version, checked the config.php, there are no extra white space / lines. Do you know where I can download a copy of clean installation files?

http://www.vbulletin.com
As it is commercial software, the only place to get a proper version is to purchase a license and download it from the member's area. Sorry..

Yea, the vBulletin guys are good people, it really should be a purchased license before you use it.
