Interesting ideas -- here are my thoughts on each: I understand what you want with the first one, but it is too disconnected; there is too much going on and I'm reading it like "Eedvolution" Perhaps if you did the extra letters a little larger; in a lighter color and overlapping as if they are coming up from a page in the back -- more along the lines of a DaVinci sketch ed-volving into a masterpiece, you know?

I like the second, it is crisp and clean but wonder if you could modern it up with some more subtle shading effect - maybe let the word press into the background a bit more.

The third is great, but there is a problem with the scriptina font and the lightbulb -- it's too difficult to read. Keep trying with that one; perhaps the lightbulb can be a lot smaller and take the place of one of the "L"s or something like that. Definitely try different fonts. With the logo as it is, the word would have to be very tiny and illegible on something like a business card.

The fourth reminds me a little of the mobile logo. It doesn't really have a lot of flair.

In the fifth one I think I like "C" better -- you really have to think of legibility on all sorts of things like large signs/banners seen from a distance; small logos on stationery or business cards. Make the text really easy to read. You don't have to sacrifice design, you're on the right track. Try other ways of merging your "ED" design, too. The font in this one is kinda dated -- as if this is the older logo from the 80s and they are going to want to remake it soon. again, try interesting ways of shading; two-tone colors, etc.

Nice job so far!

Thanks for all the valuable input. I will put that into consideration with my follow up designs. How long have you been designing for?

Hello....
some good ideas you have going:) I'm going to give you some feed back/suggestions, from my view...hope to help:)

Logo 1.....while the idea is good, the logo looks scattered, not pulled together..
maybe fade the E & D? tweak the baselines? meke the viewer 'get it'...right away.(I'd make the E & D evolving into the square and dot more pronounced, )

Logo 2
probably my 2nd favorite(I'd make the bands of color, more varied, the ED color, brighter?)

Logo 3
To me, the wispy font (scriptina), and the sketched look of the logo, doesn't convey evolution, maybe more modern looking/edgier...? for a consulting group, great idea.....

Logo 4
the font, the border, it comes off looking a little , well, boring, again maybe get rid of the border, different font selection, try a rounded corner box?)

Logo 5
I like variation B......again I'd further explore variations, the font in volution.......this has a lot of potential

very good concepts:) let us know what ones the client chooses, or revisions you make, its fun to see a loge evolve(:):)) into perfection:)

I run a design business from home, picking up clients through my website and through word-of-mouth, mainly. Before that I tried all sorts of different places: printhouses, a small magazine publishing co, the art dept of a directory, lots of freelance, PR at a community center -- even a sign company. That's what's fun about this profession; everyone needs you! :)

i like your third idea. It looks modern and shows quality. I think your other ideas are not as great as this third idea, especially when you would use it for letterheas etc. When you crop it, it wil lose it's strenght
