Hello DC community, I'm a 26 year old game design graduate from wales, looking to build a career in graphic design. I am fairly inexperienced in digital art but this site seems like a great opportunity to practice and build the portfolio, even if I don't win any contests.  :p

Sorry...This site is only for experienced designer. Bad news is you need to win at least one for every 10 contests you participated in, otherwise you'll be banned :)
Welcome and thanks for your interest anyway...good luck in contests.

Well that seems harsh given the amount of competition, it doesn't say anything about that in the FAQ but If that is the case I will have to be careful with what I submit. Any chance you could redirect me to where I can find a clear explanation of how this site currently works as far as contest submissions go? I read the sticky thread about it but it seemed obsolete and none of the links worked.

I am not coming in totaly blind btw, I have designed logos, posters and wedding invitations in the past but my portfolio is limited and have much to learn about technique.

I was just kidding...:) nothing to worry about...participate and submit as many as you can in contests :) As long as you create your design in vector (for logo design), no clipart, no dingbat, not copying others, not stealing other logo, no photo tracing unless you own the photo, then you should be good to go...

Btw, here is help section for designers:
