Control Handles in Pen/Bezier Tool

Hello everyone,

Can anyone please help me with pen tool and bezier tool? I am struggling with smooth functioning of these tools because I don't know how to control the "control handles". Please guide me!!! I need to know how to change the angle and acceleration of the line/curve drawn. 

Tools that are frequently used and very helpful when you work with pen, freehand or bezier tool is :

1. convert to line

2. convert to curve

3. cusp node

4. smooth node

5. symmetrical node

You can find it on the property bar when you select one of the nodes
