Where do I find the specific rules/formats/etc.  for a website design contest? I've tried searching the knowledge base but haven't had much  luck.

One specific question though,  does type need to  be rasterized/flattened for a webdesign contest? Also  I assume there is no  coding involved,  just  a PSD mockup of the site. It would be real  nice if I could find the page with the outline for this type of contest.  I know it's there, I've seen it before,  but I can't seem  to  find it now.

Thanks

-J

Hi there

Text is most of the time left intact,  most of the time text  is from fonts that are  found on computers when you buy them, now anything special that would not be webfonts are converted  :)

All website contests are for design only, source files are  most of the time psd  layered graphics ready for slicing coding

Coding is NOT included

I ages can be stock if allowed by the client and the client knows where the images came from, many clients have  own content and images, you can also use the free stock sites as long as ELUA allows

The client can hire a designer to code and develop or  go through designcontest development team

thank you

Wow,  that was a quick response.  I assumed text  would remain intact,  but in general around here it needs to  be outlined,  which is why I asked. So  I should basically stick  to  standardized webfonts? I was already along those lines anyway. Out of all of the sites I have built in the past they  were either designed in Flash or in a text editor,  so  I'm going to  try  my hand at mocking one up in Photoshop as opposed to  using some grid paper.

Should I keep all of the pages in the same file in different groups, or should I create a new file for each  page.  I'd prefer the former seeing as the header/footer/navbar will all  remain  the same.

Thanks,

-J

Some designers designers do this  as each page each file type but others will streamline and put all pages on file and just toggle the "eye" to see the page wanted to see, they will put each page in on folder on same file or some just  leave the  the pages names on the layers pg2image1 for layer name example  so  any way they helps you keep it organized.  I do not desing web myself but do work with psd images that has MANY  layers and files

Depending on the project  I  will either make folders or   just leave as one folder and name each layer accordingly and toggle to see what is needed/wanted

Some of the web designers may chime in and give you way better advice on this  :)

Hi there,

Sharie already advised you well.

I usually make another file for every page, it helps me to be more organized when the pages are complex and with a lot of content. Plus some images might be very big and that will make the file bigger and hard to work with. You can just duplicate the homepage, rename the file for the inner page and then just keep the header, footer and replace the main content.

Most of the contests here are just for homepage, though. Good luck! :)
