Is it allowed to make a silhouette of a photograph to compose a logo?

You can trace only own photo images, not the one found on internet.

Babba nailed it.  I sell  a lot on Shutterstock, and they  are incredibly strict  about using silhouettes,  why? Because they  can get  sued,  you can get  sued,  everyone can get sued. I use the same rule of thumb here  as well.  Literally when I use 3D models for silhouettes  at Shutterstock, they make me upload a reference image  to  make sure I am not using a photo,  and when I use a photo  they  demand a model  release form.
