Thumbnail reviews. What's new, and worth attention? Who did it and why? Fact and opinion.

Wacom is not there. They were probably too ashamed to include it in the list. I would really love to read more about the story behind this redesign.

Here in holland the unilever logo caused a lot of comosion. it looks a lot
like the V&D logo (http://home.arcor.de...endlogoboom.jpg) A dutch warehouse. I still don't understand why there is a tree in the logo...

Never seen the commotion but I don't see why there is a problem because there totally different. Unilever use it in a U shape and V&D use it in a illustration to replace the leaves of a tree. And probably used it in the fall for a fall collection or a sale.

What about the NYC taxi logo? It's terrible!

http://www.nyc.gov/h...logo_main.shtml

first of all.. the font choice is hideous, and the T references the subway.. why would you do that if the subway is faster and cheaper than a cab and if they don't interrelate in some way.. the kerning is terrible.. its just a disgrace to new york

I agree! I think this is one instance where they might have been better off with what they had to begin with!

Love this site! I like when you have the thinking/story behind the work. It's always better than just looking at pictures. Thanks!

commotion? really? hehehe

for us, may be the right word was "puzzled". :) but then, after reading the new vision of the company... it was justified and the new logo become acceptable as time goes by. (as if we have the guts to protest. :D )

btw, i used to work in Unilever Philippines as a Creative Executive in our group.... we are responsible for all the creative requirements of the company.
