1.
I was wondering how many design team members you have?
I saw a list under winner of contests, but it was less than 20.
Is there somewhere else to look?
or do you keep the design team small?

2.
How many administrators are there?
and what is the difference between members and administrators?
i am just trying to figure out the size of this site and how this works.
do the administrators also design logos for the job they post?
where do the jobs come from?
do they come from this site itself?
or do administrators bring these jobs from their company?

3.
When will i become a design team member?
I followed the criteria listed under the join design team thread.
I guess I am a little anxious
I already designed a few logo contests that ended already
I wouldn't call it a waste of time cause i love to design
but i want to enter the contests
and see how i measure up.

i am aware you don't just want people here to enter contests
but to be involved in the community
another reason i am asking questions
i want to be involved

I hope someone can help me understand this a little more
thank you

1.
I was wondering how many design team members you have?
Close to 150.

Is there somewhere else to look?
I don't think it's currently displayed for public view anywhere.

2.
How many administrators are there?
There are 6 staff members (that's both Mods and Admins)

and what is the difference between members and administrators?
Administrators and Moderators are on the DC staff - members are not.

do the administrators also design logos for the job they post?
Only one Administrator posts the jobs regularly (nevadabadgirl). I don't think she does logo design, though. Generally speaking, staff members are allowed to enter contests.

where do the jobs come from?
People find DC either on their own or it's recommended to them. They fill out a form to start a contest, then the contest is posted here by the Administrator in charge of posting contest (currently nevadabadgirl).

do they come from this site itself?
Usually not; although, if any member wants to run a contest, that would be fine.

or do administrators bring these jobs from their company?
Administrators' companies have no direct affiliation with DC (except for resurepus, who is the founder/owner of DC). However, if we did have a client for whom we could not do the work ourselves, then it would not be out of the question for us to run a contest in his/her name.

3.
When will i become a design team member?
I'll be looking through the remainder of the applications today. If your portfolio is reasonably good, then I will also start a poll today. The poll will last 5 days and after that it will only be a day or two before your status is changed.

Amen brother, I am not that talented. I only do web design, and actually might try to retire from that too! :)

Usually not; although, if any member wants to run a contest, that would be fine.

I have ran one contest here...since I don't do logo design, if a client needs a logo, I would rather run it here than just hire someone.

Hope that helps!
You MUST be an Elite Designer to enter the contests. Please go to www.designcontest.net and follow the link that says "Love to Design" to get more information and the requirements for joining. There are NO EXCEPTIONS.

Ok, I kind of lied on question 3 a bit. I ended up spending all day wrapping presents, and it's pretty much the end of the day. I will try to get through a few more applications tonight (if I can), but I definitely won’t get through them all.

Sorry about that.

Ok, so there actually is a way to check who is on the Design Team. There's a link at the bottom of the main forum page called "View Forum Leaders". Clicking on it will show you the members of certain usergroups, including "Design Team Member".

@ Redrum : Which criterias play the rolls in the polls ? I mean Design Team Members vote if they want the applicant. Is only the portfolio important or being friends with them plays a role aswell ?

The votes are if the other member think if your participation on the forum have been active or good. Some of the new member you could see they just try to get 10 post as fast as possible on the same day they registered by making really short posts or post even on very outdated posts.

And then very fast apply to the design team. They might have a good portfolio but only been active for 1 day and posting post that not really much showing the participation in the forum. Like at the show off or inspiration section posting "I like this" each time and no real helping comments.

Everyone post can be traced on his profile page and can see which day and when they posted and where and what they posted. So each member could see if your participant have been good on the forum.

I haven't been a member long. I am very fond of this site.
Ive tried to get involved and do good critiques and such,
but most of the time I feel like I am just talking to myself.
Do you have any tips? In my critiques I try to say atleast one positive and one negative thing. I try to keep it balanced and encouraging.
I feel like I am in highschool, the new kid again.
Is it this hard for everyone starting out on these forums?

I guess I just figured such an artsy group to have more morale and enthusiasm about one another. Where I live its hard to find people with a creative mind like me. This place seems the perfect spot to build your creative self with the help from people like you, all over. For example I live in West Virginia USA. Day one on the site it was so cool to see fresh new stuff from all over and gain strength in the friendly competition and constructive criticism. This site isn't like most of the other design contest sites. I'm not complaining .. don't want it taken that way. I guess just doing a different kind of constructive criticism.

I live in Kearneysville now, but before I lived in Millville. Plain. It is beautiful here. But sometimes I wish there were a wider minded group of people.
