Curious if I could get some critique on my new personal logo. I wanted something straightforward and using my initials. Of all my new ideas this is my favorite. Wanted to get some feedback on it...Thanks!

I like it but it is kind of hard to tell what the initials really are unless you already know them. the color scheme is great.

It hard to find or directly see it. And also see more other letters than those. There is a much easier way to make a logo with those initials. You should step away from using a shape to put the initials in. First try implement them in each other in different ways.

Coloring could be better the radius gradient is kinda too simple use of the gradients. You should use a buttonshine or even gradient net to make it special for web2.0

chung dha,

I only applied the gradient to show it with some color - I'm more concerned with the readability, design at the moment. This initially started as just letters, but I preferred the shape inside the circle

What other letters do you see?

Here are some other ideas I started with - none of which appealed to me very much.

Thanks

You are thinking bit too far outside the box. You should avoid blending or connecting to each other cause you should have seen the letter becomes other letters or something else. The two in the middle the it became a big M and T.

Make the J follow the bottom curve of the S without overlapping. And make them have a very close kerning but still little white between them.

Capital R can alway remove the stem and still see it is a R. Just something you should think about.

The font on the middle should work good with some adjustment. Removing some serifs.

I'd tend to agree with that. I def am over thinking it. I'll work up some new ideas and try to post soon.

Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated!

So I toyed with some new ideas, tried to simplify my approach. I am pleased with this (though I want to adjust minor details here and there). I think it is readable and not confusing. I think this looks clean, balanced, and 'm pretty happy with it and it doesn't appear to form a different letter (from what I can tell).

Though I wanted to use my initials as the base for this - Id prefer the logo not look exactly like the letters of my initials. I believe all the proper hints and suggestions as to what letters make up my initials are there.

Of course criticism is wanted and welcomed!

I like the first round logo, maybe experiment with variants of that? simplify the letters some? I think it coveys an artistic side/sense........:)
(maybe break the circle using 3 colors/2 colors?)

This one the J comes much better out then the other, but there always a but the top S looks bit too much like a E. Try abstracting the shape to basic shapes. Squares or triangles or circles.

I mainly got small procedure for letter form logo. First sketch anyway possible to place the letter together in small or capitals without anything changes to the letters yet only moving them or overlap and mix them all together the search which you like. Then totally abstract them each time go further and further when you are done with all look back and search for the one that pop out the most. Got tons of papers laying around with sketches of different letters mix together to find letterform logo's.

Here is idea maybe try the J with the tail going into the top of the S and the or make out of the bottom of the S. Capital R got the round bend of the bottom of the S, also aimed the same direction.

I think the J is bit the killer of this design. Hard to blend in with the other shapes.

i like the gradient in the first round but have to agree about the letters not being all that readable. the third choice is great but you lose the 's'. have you tried ambigrams? they could do some awesome things if you want your letters to merge together in an abstract kind of way.

No, I haven't really tried to much with ambigrams - but thanks for the suggestion.

Here's the latest iteration, one with some color for good measure. I've made the S as readable as can be.

happy (soon to be) new year!

I like your logo, but it takes a while to catch what it says. I think the key is to narrow it down to making it readable but yet effective enough to be unique. I actually like the yellow one you created, it looks great!

You should be more conceptual on what you want to express with graphics, to you means the world... but how others be captivated by what you express through it and yes you should stay away from gradient.

The logo has come along way, and I think you're very closed to finish, you've made an interesting shape which works well together. However, I'm not much of a fan of the yellow or gradient. Was there a reason you choose yellow as the main color? Generally I find it a difficult color to work with ( just my opinion.)
"Why?"

I think V brings up a good point, I think your logo would work better as one solid color, with maybe a few different colored strokes or outlines.
