Ok, color me lost... How exactly does the vote thing work?

I'm not sure what the color of lost is :), but here's how the voting works...

There are two steps to go through when applying for the Design Team: Step one is where you submit your application and your portfolio gets reviewed. If step one is successfully completed, then you move on to step two. In step two, we will create a poll, which asks whether the designer being voted on has shown at least some effort when making posts.

Usually such effort means posting valuable posts rather than the basic "Nice work!" or "Cool!". Not that these kinds of posts ar always bad - sometimes you might just want to express your appreciation for someone's work and that's just fine. However, if a designer's entire post history has nothing useful in it, then people won't vote positively for that designer.
