Project description

We need a background slide image to be used with an upcoming sermon series on the biblical book Hebrews. The series will be called “Sacred Spaces.”

The point of the series (and the message we want the design to communicate) is finding God in the everyday. We are going to be teaching people how to recognize God in the everyday—from the everyday “blessings,” to the conversations we have with people, to our desires and our vision of the good life.

The design does not have to be overtly religious (but it can be). Any design that communicates “finding God in the everyday” could work. Please look at the examples of work we have used in the past.

The image should have the title: "Sacred Spaces."

We need three versions of the image: (1) 30 inches wide x 20 inches tall to be displayed from a computer projector onto a wall and then later printed on to wood and hung on a wall, (2) square to be used as album artwork for the podcast, and (3) 3.375 inches wide x 8 inches tall for use on the front of our printed bulletin.

I have attached some examples of work we have used in the past. Please let me know what questions you have!

  • As I am also a photographer and take shots everyday, I found a lot of my photos related to this subject and this shot is one of them. This scene shows us that even in our old age or at the end of our lives, we are still not alone. Good people are with us all the time, no matter if they are our closest members of family, our friends or some other people that we know. This photo shows us that it doesn't matter because we don't know who are they to themselves. Only what is important is that God always send us somebody in our hardest moments. #266
  • As I am religious person, I understand the meaning of deeply being connected to God. That is why I even decided to participate in this contest, to give my vision of this theme. A boy in this picture is my nephew. I photographed him one day while we were going for a walk and we were standing on the traffic lights waiting to turn green for us. Suddenly he raised his head up and just looking up for some time. He wasn't looking in the traffic lights because they were on the other direction. He was looking at the sky. Maybe he saw something up there, maybe he saw a bird, but maybe he just felt some connection and started thinking about God, maybe even tried to speak to him with his heart. I don't know. I just know that as we got home and when I took a look at my photos I saw it, and see it very powerfull, so I am sharing it with you. #265
