Project description

We need a background slide image to be used with an upcoming sermon series on the first few chapters of the biblical Book of Acts (Acts 1–6:7). The series will be called “Witness.”

The Book of Acts is about the early church’s growth despite intense opposition. Some themes of the book include: (1) God was behind the growth and success of the early church, (2) Christianity is not a “new religion” but a continuation of Judaism centered on the person and work of Jesus, and (3) the gospel is for all people. The early chapters of the book (the ones we are going to cover in the sermon series) emphasize the boldness of the early Christians in proclaiming the gospel despite opposition.

The point of the series (and the message we want the design to communicate) is that we can bold in sharing our story because God is with us.

The design does not necessarily have to use imagery from the Bible, but it can. The design could allude to some of the stories in Acts 1–6:7, to boldness in the face of violence, imprisonment, and hardship, or it could go in a completely different direction. (I have included previous contest winners for reference.) The design does not have to be overtly religious (but it can be). Any design that communicates “We can be bold in sharing our story because God is with us” could work. Please look at the examples of work we have used in the past.

The image should have the title: "Witness."

We need three versions of the image: (1) 30 inches wide x 20 inches tall to be displayed from a computer projector onto a wall and then later printed on to wood and hung on a wall, (2) square to be used as album artwork for the podcast, and (3) 3.375 inches wide x 8 inches tall for use on the front of our printed bulletin.

I have attached some examples of work we have used in the past. Please let me know what questions you have!
