Winning design #8177 by sanjeebsks204, Icon Design for Halloween Design Contest
Gold Medal

designed by sanjeebsks204

Project description

You can use the tools of your choice, a graphic tablet or just paper and pencil. You can even do a vector rendering of your Halloween Design  if you like.  Remember no photo or photo manipulation or clipart. The image that you upload will be automatically resized to 640x480px. But your best results happen if you size your entry yourself at 640x480.  You do not need to use the DC canvas for this contest. You keep all the rights for the image and you are free to use it for any future projects even if you win the contest. The only thing that we request is that the Halloween  design you submit here is done specifically for this contest and not an old work of yours.

The winner will be determined by the poll open to all registered members of the DC community. I am sure that the members will judge the creativity, the drawing skills and your sense of humor. Just as usual, the winner of this contest will receive a DC t-shirt from our store and will move one step closer to enrollment to the Elite Design Team.

  • Glad that you like it. Thanks for the comments. There couldn’t be the perfect marriage, even in the monsters world… Dracula could be their lawyer since is yet a bloodsucker :P. Greetings.

Nice work, scary and funny all in one. Good art work too.
  • Hope you like my work sharie! =)
  • Hi Sharie, Thank you for your comments, they are very helpful. About #7568 vs #7619, it's hard to say which I like best. The brighter glow provides an eye-catching, stark contrast, and the more subtle one brings out the eyes, which is probably a better focal point for the illustration, as you say. It's just preference, I guess... thanks for your comments, again.

  • Love all the entries, and this is like an online art class! Great! :)
  • so far evee's bat is the cutist - but not scary. maybe there should be some catagories: scary, cute, funny, weird, etc, . . .M
  • About #7568 Reply 1 on : Sat October 16, 2010, 12:15:34 HA I was wondering if we would get a scary black cat. Good use of tool to create the cat fur. Those are some mean looking fangs! I wonder how this would look with a moon and slight glow. I think the moon and its color over powers your illustration. I'm not saying it is bad at all I just wonder what a more subtle moon would look like

  • Thanks sharie for you commets. Are greatly appreciated.
  • #7459 I like the mask and the expression and I get the idea of the bats flying out of the mouth but they don't show well. They seem to get lost in the design. The shading is great and the way the eyes are looking at the bats made me laugh. I think my expression would would be a little r-rated if bats flew out my mouth LOL.
  • #4758 I the 3d look is quite nice and I like how you have faded the text a bit. the folds are very well done on the ghost. The pumpkin is distracting to the eye where it is. I wonder I how it would look if the ghost was holding the pumpkin either has a candy collector or even just holding it in front of itself. having the pumpkin somehow interact with the illustration instead of just in the corner. The weeds and the cat fit perfect. Looking at the whole design it is quite nice and the crooked kind of smile adds character.
  • cute little thing, like it ;)
  • #7354 haha so cute :D
  • looks pretty swweet... this would be cool for a t-shirt..
