Winning design #529 by Nico, Icon Design for Troll Contest
Gold Medal

designed by Nico

Project description

You can use the tools of your choice, a graphic tablet or just paper and pencil. You can even do a vector rendering of your Troll if you like. The image that you upload will be automatically resized to 640x480px. You keep all the rights for the image and you are free to use it for any future projects even if you win the contest. The only thing that we request is that the Troll you submit here is done specifically for this contest and not an old work of yours.

The winner will be determined by the poll open to all registered members of the DC community. I am sure that the members will judge the creativity, the drawing skills and your sense of humor. Just as usual, the winner of this contest will receive a DC t-shirt from our store and will move one step closer to enrollment to the Elite Design Team.

  • interesting, look hard enough and you find T R O L L 3 times, very different spin on a troll, Wonder what it would have looked like if you had used color in some areas
  • Ha! great spin on what a troll might look like. I remember the trollsin a petcare forum I use to moderate grrrr. Very creative idea
  • Coy

  • Nico I posted an answer to your question in the forum.
  • Ha, this looks like some of that grade scholl noodle art we use to do or those movable type characters, where all the joints moved. interesting, different for sure, having a hard time seeing a troll in this but you never know what a troll looks like
  • Nico, nothing i wrong with the site. You should check the thread about your entry in the Community Contests section on the forums.
  • werji, try uploading a image that's already 640x480, sharie, why has my halloween pumpkin entry disappeared?
  • I have made this Troll in Adobe Illustrator using regular and deformed Circles only!
  • i think
  • i thing there is something wrong with the site
  • Is it just me, or can no one else upload their submissions. It allows me to submit, but then it brings me to a link that says hp505 not found. And ive been trying for a couple of days. Is ther another way i can submit my drawing?

  • I like this guy, Tough and mean looking. The coloring has an old feel. Texture on the man cloth makes this look cave manish also. The spin, very interesting. There is something throwing my with the spine/back almost like the spine turns and goes down to the troll's hip, it just doesn't seem to match with the placement of the legs, not sure exactly what it is though.
  • Great troll, love the skin texture. His belt buckle is very fitting for the character. I can see him on some sorta harley troll bike. The details on this guy are just wonderful. Interesting background choice, quite different but it works well.
  • Ha an old troll tree, toothless and saggy! One question though, his legs are muscled but the upper half is old and saggy and boney. The illustration is nice though, love how you made him toothless
  • Wow, #546,and #548, nice styles!
  • great work! Though I think too much blur in this illustration, some sharp lines would make it stronger!
  • This is a different looking troll. Looks to be part snake/retile and alien that works out at a gym. This guy has a very creepy feel. LOL Interesting view of a troll
  • LOL is that a skulol head down there in the no seum area? This troll looks like an ape mixed with some monster from the black lagoon
  • This is quite different. At first look I see a "jamacin" Troll. Creative way to work up a Troll.
