Project description

looking to create a new center image that would replace the rotating image slider on this site- http://flysilvercomet.com/ the image will need to be full width, but can be shorter than current 420px height. 250-300px will work. we're open to any ideas, but are thinking that we'd like a mosiac type image that includes images of planes, varying destinations, and the Atlanta city skyline. we need to include text "A new airport for metro Atlanta," like it does currently. we're also open to idea on how to include... it can be displayed in something that evokes a destination/arrival board at an airport, or within other recognizable airport signage. up to you. the plane icon is only needed if it works within your concept. please present your submissions within a screenshot of the current site, so we'll see exactly how it would work. let me know if any questions. thanks! bryan

  • ok, not liking that overaly either. the pink/purples tones and font dont fit at all, and the 3 other icons feel off as well. how about something that look more like a display board at an airport- https://www.google.com/search?q=airport+display+board&espv=210&es_sm=91&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=0ch6Uv3PO6b5iQLFh4FA&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1975&bih=1037&dpr=1 and could to vary the placement? maybe its not on top of the images, but an image WITHIN the grid.
    • Thank you for the feedback. I have posted #14 with your requests. Thanks.

  • Hello Bryan, I just have a question. Is Silver Comet an international/intercontinental airport, or will it only house domestic flights. It doesn't say on the website. I'm wondering so I know what kind of photos to include. Thanks
    • domestic. south east US destinations. limited.

  • both look great. let me chat with partner and will follow up soon.
  • ok, i like the board, but can we make the letters a little bigger? seems like too much unused space in there. also, cant have the yellow border in the grid? can you use gray or black and tighten it up so there's much less space between images?
    • Thank you. I have submitted design#9 and #10 with the changes that you requested. Please let me know of any other changes you would like to see.

  • or just have white space between the images, like in the earlier one.
  • thanks. good start - i like it a lot. can we make the "new airport..." block a little bigger? feels cramped. maybe try another style for is as well, something like- https://www.google.com/search?q=airport+display+board&espv=210&es_sm=91&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=t-N6UsL_DqH9iwLC9IGQDw&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1975&bih=1037 if that doesnt work, then we dont have to use it. but owuld like to try. thanks, b
    • thanks for the feedback. Please check out entry #8. I have incorporated your idea of an airport display board.

  • Hi CH. I posted entry #7. if you like the designs, I will purchase the stock photos. Thank you.
  • this is much better, but i'd like to see a couple things- - add a few more pictures, but include beach, skiing... destination shots. the images can all be a little smaller so we can fit in more. - need to find another style for the "a new airport.." box and the layout of the tagline itself. not liking the staggered look. try a couple ideas to get that box within the grid of images. thanks, b
  • thanks for submission, but missed the mark and notes from the brief. want to tile a series of images, not have one big image. the "new airport..." block should be within the mosaic some way. not into the font layout you have there as well.
  • thanks for submission. a good start, but i'd like to find a better way to incorporate the "new airport" box into the mosaic. feels thrown on, not slick. also, can we add some images of planes and drop the images of the great wall of china and london? those wou;dnt be realistic destinations for the small airport, so can be dropped. b
  • thanks for submission. a little better than the other, but still not quite what i was hoping to see. i'd like something where a bunch of images are perhaps tiled, so its a mosaic. not a plane superimposed over a city. thanks.
  • thanks for submission. that wont work. i'd like something where a bunch of images are perhaps tiled, so its a mosaic. not a plane superimposed over a city. feels a bit odd. thanks.
  • i like the white font, but the board itself now seems fake. the look of the earlier board (the background, not the font) was better- http://www.designcontest.com/icon-design/silver-comet-airport/entry/10/
    • I uploaded # 17 for your consideration. Thanks!

  • one thing - can you make the font and display board to have a white and more vintage style tone, like here- http://news.xinhuanet.com/english2010/photo/2010-04/16/13253597_11n.jpg all else is good. b
