Project description

odrive is a silicon valley startup. We created an application for bringing all your files together in one place. We do this by uniting all your cloud storage accounts and synchronizing everything to your desktop.

This project is for our new company website. It's a fairly simple project. We need some help finishing our website design. The layout, color scheme, and copy are done. We need help fine tuning the diagrams. Specifically, we want to make them more consistent with each other, add more design details and refinements.

The latest website designs are in UXPin:

There is a single page. The 4th panel's graphic changes with the selected benefit. There are three benefits and each one has a graphic. The links below show the page for each selected benefit.

We need to tune all the graphics. Here is the list for clarity:

1) panel 2 - infinite cloud
2) panel 4 - efficient: single sign on
3) panel 4 - intuitive: file manager with sync badging
4) panel 4 - intelligent: infinite local disk drive (this needs help, it looks like a record player instead of a disk drive)
5) panel 5 - reach expert level

Some notes:
1) Please use the existing color scheme. The graphics can only be white, fuschia, or blue with white as the primary color.
2) Please do not substantially change the image sizes so layout is unaffected.
4) We are not married to each diagram so we are open to alternative diagrams, but they must preserve the meaning.

Thank you very much!

  • I think we like this element. Can you try something more like http://www.freepik.com/free-vector/poligonal-background-with-lines-and-dots_846724.htm#term=polygon&page=1&position=4 #62
  • I will show you some minor adjustments. if you like please tell me
  • About #61, @glaxon I think we are very very close. Any other adjustments and refinements you would like to propose?
  • Option 3 is best. The words definitely help with context #61
  • The central box should still be clearly a login prompt. Please see this: https://preview.uxpin.com/d2f187cef54220eafe47761ec4f7eea710c9c210#/pages/66526875 #60
  • For clarity, please look at the diagram on this mockup: https://preview.uxpin.com/d2f187cef54220eafe47761ec4f7eea710c9c210#/pages/66484380 #57
  • I would like to try one more approach for this image. The goal is to show odrive supports universal storage apps. Sync is an example. We also have Backup, Encryption, Pro Sync, and more coming in the future. Let's try showing there is more than unify and sync. The image can be a series of icons for Sync, Backup, Encryption, Pro sync, and more. It might look like the apps on an iphone. Or look like the apps in an app store. Does that make sense? #57
  • The goal is to show how intelligent sync can unlimit the storage capacity of your SSD. 1) This image is a SD card, not Solid state disk drive. Google "SSD internal hard drive" images to see how it should look. 2) Add "SSD" and "Infinite GB" to the image for clarity once the right shape is found. 3) We just want to show the SSD, so we can remove the extra connections so the image is bigger and more clear. #57
  • This is very close. Let's try to get more focus on the message: 1) Instead of a laptop, just make this a login box and use the thick white outline to make the style consistent with other diagrams. 2) increase the size of the login box so it is easier to see 3) remove the pw field 4) remove the id lable 5) change the button to blue "Login" #57
  • Let's reduce the complexity of this image to highlight the key messages: 1) cloud storage everywhere 2) turning into sync folder. Can we try: 1) focus on the most recognizable logos. Only use the primary clouds for the large logos. For example, replace 4shared with Onedrive. 2) reduce the number of folders in the computer to only show the most recognizable logos. #57

  • the background pattern is nice, but it must tie in with all the other images. #58
  • we should avoid using "cloud" shapes for odrive since this is relatively generic. #58
  • I like the SSD and the "Infinite GB" label. However, this needs to look like a SSD drive, which is an internal drive not external storage as depicted. Also, the style needs to expand into the efficient and intuitive images as well. So we need the set of 3 images to tell if the design will work. #58
  • Rex
Rate/feedback? @iheartdesign these are my new designs #59
  • The original idea was a traditional magnetic hard drive. Let's try showing the latest hard drive ... a SSD. Let's make the shape the same as a SSD and label it SSD (in white) and Infinite GB (in fuschia). Here is a link to an image of a SSD drive for reference: http://www.macwindows.com/Images/sandisk-ssd.jpg #53
    • About #53, @iheartdesign
      OK
I will update the changes soon.

    • @glaxon getting closer. I'll post specific comments soon.

  • Rex
feedback on why my entries were eliminated? @iheartdesign
    • Hi @Rex ... thanks for your entries. We wanted a more "modern" style with a clean and simple look containing a high degree of polish.

  • very cool. But let's make this more like a circuit board with the computer in the middle of the board. Make the overall proportion a rectangle like a circuit board ... maybe even outline it. For reference, here is a circuit board image: https://img.clipartfest.com/bbf7e44859c6ecb206fc7970bea0a411_printed-circuit-boards-printed-circuit-board-clipart_1300-1300.jpeg #51
  • Very nice. We don't have yellow or orange. I would like to keep the pallet more restrained. Lets remove the dots. #53
  • the fuchsia is a bit too much here. Suggest making the outline for the last bar fuchsia and make the fill transparent. Also try making the text white or fuschia or the light blue. #53
