Allied Surgical Assistants

Initially I was disappointed with the designs that I was getting. the staff at Design Contest, who I corresponded with, were VERY HELPFUL AND ACCOMODATING to me and my needs and concerns. I really like the logo that the designer created and very happy that she was willing to make me happy with all of my requests. I would go back to Design Contest.

Winning design #170 by junifer, Logo Design for Allied Surgical Assistants Contest
Gold Medal

designed by junifer

Project description

I own a company that provided surgical assistance to surgeons in the operating room. I help the doctors perform numerous complex surgical procedures. I wld like a dynamic eye-catching logo that will help the surgeons (my clients) remember and separate me from the rest of the competitions, based on the logo on my business cards, bag, shirts, caps, etc. please STAY AWAY from the overused symbols (NO caduceus, EKG, medical/EMT cross, stethoscopes, etc) of the medical world. REMEMBER, THIS IS WORK IN SURGERY. must be original, unique, eye-catching, and dynamic. Must be able to print-easy on white and black baseball caps, and t-shirts

  • its a good start but I wld like to add blue to the color scheme if possible. I live in texas (hence red, white, blue, & lone star theme), maybe having some sort of texas theme is a possibility. so far I think all the font selections have been bland and not eye-catching enough. please read edited briefing of the product that I want

Hi CH, please find my entries #30 & #31, i think a hand of A Surgical Assistant is what best to describe the nature of your business, a part of the flag of Texas is included as well as the color scheme to form the shape of a cross as to symbolize medical in a subtle way – Surgical Assistants from Texas, i hope you like the idea :) best regards, sch

      |--| thank you. interesting take on the logo, but the "hand" is not what I am looking for. when I see "the" logo, I will know its what I want.

  • nice but that's the EMS/paramedic star sign.
  • carefully. although I have broaden my requirements for my logo needs, I still DO NOT want the usual mediCal symbols (MEDICAL/EMS CROSS, CADUCEUS - "WRAPPED AROUND SNAKE", EKG, BONES, HEARTS). All of these symbols have been done to death. Again, I appreciate your entries.
  • Hi, I submitted an entry for you #66 and #70. Please provide me any feedback you might have to improve my design to your desire and satisfactory! Best Regards and Happy New Year!
  • Can you tell me about what the symbol is.
    • #56 : Dear CH, The red symbol represents a drop of blood and the white portion represents the Allied Surgical Assistants who cares for each drop of blood to save the invaluable human life. Thanks.

  • Hi. I think you are heading in the right direction with what I want but I can't tell you what until I see it. I do like your work, particularly the nexus and nano dyne logo and color. Use those as a road map. #19 was one of the considerations if I had to choose a few but it just isn't exactly what I see as "the one".

Hello, I've submitted a design #72. I would really appreciate it if you could give me some feedback. Thanks! AKG
    • Too much going on within the letters, that wild seem to make the average person try to figure out what's in each letter

  • Hi, I submitted an entry for you #66 and #74 . Please provide me any feedback you might have to improve my design to your desire and satisfactory! Best Regards

      |--| I think it's ok. Not great. My brief states no EKG and you put EKG. There is only one design with a medical symbol (cross) that I kinda like even though I didn't want any medical /ems crosses. On the bright side, I do like the layout.

  • Designers Please read the contest brief! The contestholder requested NO medical crosses in the new logo.
  • Hello to all designers. I appreciate the entries but perhaps most are misguided with what I am looking for. I don't really like any of the symbolism involving blood, the eyes, the hand(s) - along with other already overdone medical symbols like EKGs, caduceus, stethoscopes ....but maaaaaaybe a medical cross wild work, if done right. If it takes too long for me to decipher what the logo represents, it's probably not what I want. I encourage you all to think "outside of the box" (perhaps not medical picture wise) to construct a logo. I don't know if I wld be helping or hurting you, but some of the traits that I normally want to convey to the surgeons that I work with are: dependability, availability, competence, efficiency. I had an logo idea of a tree with branches that would spell out "ASA" somehow, but don't know if that wld look good or bad. The tree trunk represents my foundation, the branches represents each one of the traits stated above (cold also mean that I can multi-task very well, as that trait in the OR is helpful. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. I hope these comments help.
    • Hi, I've been looking on the web, and the use of ASA isn't good idea. I see a logo on the web with the same letters for "Austin Surgical Assistants" and "American Surgical Assistants". I don't know if this is one of your competition, but the clients could be confused. But take a look at #82. Thanks.

    • I work in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex so Austin Surg Assist is in Austin and Amer Surg Assist is not in my area. #82 isn't what I am looking for

  • Hi, I submitted another totally unique entry for you #80 . Underneath my logo there are two hidden principles; on the right side of the logo you can see the abstract blood, cordination with eye ball and the whole left side is an flowing abstract of an eye. Flowing eye represent the responsibilities of your profession and blood as in medical/life form! Please provide me any feedback you might have to improve my design to your desire and satisfactory! Best Regards

      |--| Hello, i appreciate your effort but it is def not what I am looking for.

  • Can you tell me more about your design ( particularly inside the cross)?
    • Your perception makes your own interpretation. I see depentabilty, efficiency, and multi tasking when I look at the lines within. Circle around the logo is perhaps the foundation you build, Inside the cross is simple and shows competence (smily face perhaps). Again my design is in open palette for your perception! Thanks for inquiring about my design. Best Regards

  • Hi CH, I have read your comments below and produced entry #90. Feedback greatly appreciated. Regards SJK
    • Too much going on with the branches/lletters making up what looks like ASA. Also too skinny. I do like the color

    • Hi CH, thank you for the feedback much appreciated. Please find a revised entry #96. I have made the ASA more distinctive and have thickened up the font, please do not hesitate to comment further. Regards SJK

  • Hi Ch, Here's my idea. #94 . The icon symbolize stitches in surgery or surgical. Hope you like it. :-)
  • I didn't want you to mesh the two concept together.
  • Like this one a lot. I do like the colors presented so far. Can you show me some with other color schemes and maybe make the color scheme a bit more dynamic and bond. Just curious to see what other colors would look good. Show me variations of the layout of the logo and the name. Take your time and think it thru please.
  • One of the few designs that I like but don't know if it fits what I want. Why did you choose to do the two merging spheres with the ring around it? I do like the color variations of the fonts. Catchy and cool.
    • Hello: concerning the logo. the two circles represent the surgeon and Assistant. the union of the two shows work team must do to succeed in the surgeries. and the ellipse that unites them is communication that must exist on both sides to successfully complete any project. Any feedback would be helpful. The logo have the minimal style to be more atractive PS. The shape (circle) can be changed and still has the same meaning in the logo, if you have any suggestion of shape just let me know. I choose the circle shape to express the head on the wordmark that is on each "i" on the name

  • Interesting design that can be interpreted in many ways. What is it supposed to be?
    • I agree that it can be interpreted in many ways, initially, my goal was to make it tree-like, as you suggested. The red part is meant to be the trunk and branches which also abstractly read "ASA." The blue, then are the leaves which grow because of the branches. The more I see it, I find different things. It could also be looked at like veins with the red ones being the source of energy. Personally, I like the concept of a tree because of its strength and longevity.

  • Like balance of simplicity and complexity. Explain the shape and what brought you to this logo? Can you add so e pizzazz to it, and different color scheme. I have notice that I like diff shades of a color.
    • Thank you so much for your ratings I am glad you like my design! I created this shape as an abstract version of the medical cross. It has the perfect balance of lines which represents precision in your field. It shows movement of developing in an ever changing field of medicine. I am so glad you like it. I will add some pizzazz and different color schemes please let me know if there is anything else I could do to perfect this for you.

    • Can you make the "Allied....Assistants" font a bit bolder and more "empowering".

    • How is the text for "Allied Assistants" in my newest options? I hope thats better! Any thoughts on the most recent updates to the designs, color schemes, ect?

    • I submitted a ton of new options with color schemes, changes in fonts, and small changes to the design. Do not hesitate to come to me with anything else you would like to see! :)
