Project description

Since we would like to feature Gracie Bay in the logo and would like the company to embody her fun, carefree spirit I think it is important to understand her personality a bit. Gracie Bay (the dog) is an ornery dog who lives to ‘seek fun’ every minute of her life. She was named after Grace Bay in Turks & Caicos. Gracie Bay’s favorite things to do on this earth – standup paddle boarding, play Frisbee, play with her tennis balls, and be with people. The #1 reason this dog makes everyone smile is that her left ear stands up ‘on end’ when she gets excited or plays. Our intention is to bring her personality in the ‘brand’, marketing collateral and the products we sell. Our tag line will be ‘Seek Fun’. Life in general has become very serious with the economic climate the world is facing. Perhaps ‘seeing’ Gracie Bay and wearing our fun apparel will take ‘regular’ folks ‘away’ from life’s complications, hardships and make them smile. Aspirational: Seek Fun from your life. Every day is a vacation day. . Logo elements • Company Name – Gracie Bay • Iconic Illustrative representation of Gracie Bay’s face with left ear up • Color Palette – Prefer bright yellow and turquoise Font – simple, clean easy to reproduce • Optional depending upon your creative style - Simple beach lifestyle visual – hibiscus, palm tree etc – optional Please no clip art. We are looking to you to design a fabulous logo that will help launch our brand and will resonate the 'cool, beach' lifestyle with our target customers. What you design is the gateway to our success! Please consider when designing the logo that the design will also be utilized in apparel wear and other ‘gear’ such as stand up paddle boards, etc… therefore her face (including a body depending on the tshirt and other apparel design) must be designed in a simple contemporary/abstract way to be easily applied to such designs. Pictures of Gracie can be found at OR @GracieBay

  • I wanted to invoke the feeling of simplicity and fun from the hippie/surfer era by using your brilliantly bold colors in pop art form.
  • I like were you are going with this design. Please remove the bandana that way her face will pop more. Also is it possible to make her face bigger now that we are removing the bandana? Her name is also two words. Thanks a bunch!
  • Thereeds92 - thanks for your designs. I had to eliminate them because the dogs face is much too detailed to use in a logo
  • Thanks everyone for your designs. The designs that were eliminated is because they either did not follow the brief, looked too cartoon-like, and/or too difficult to easily screenprint, embroider, etc. Please also keep the design colors to no more than four (4). Thanks so much! Chris
  • Hi Gracie Bay... I couldn't resist adding some spots to your bandana! Liz : )
  • Hi Gracie Bay, I hope you like this little pic I drew of you! Let me know if you want to change anything, try anything else. Kind regards, Liz
  • This is so simple and sweet. Can you please use palette of darker turquoise and yellow. Is there any way you can add a bit more texture to her face? Thanks.
  • Hi can you use a softer, more casual font for the text? Can you raise her left ear and can I see the color palette of turqoise and yellow? Thanks!
  • Hi and thanks for the design. Can you make the text "Gracie Bay" a darker turqoise color? Is there any way you can simplify the 'fur' on her face so we don't have too many 'fine lines' for screenprinting and other reproductions? Thanks!
  • Hi Liz. Can you please make the following revisions? -Intead of the cirlce can you place gracie on the background of a hibiscus? - Can you take a look at her pictures again - the current sketch makes her look like a male dog (sorry). Perhpas shorten the beard and place a 'furry' line in the center for her mouth? - since I am asking for the hibiscus background I do realize you will have to do something else with the current flower imagery. Really excited about this design. Thanks, Chris
  • this design shows a more "fun" font + different color scheme + the background shape is more elliptical like a paddle board; hopefully this will get a few points for effort.
  • now that I understand more, I hope this is what you're looking for: ear up, full body + frisbee
  • Hi Chris, My two designs have a similar look- but the type is laid out a bit differently. I kept Gracie Bay simple and iconic and put her on a surfboard to show that fun, quirky feel you were looking for. I also kept it simple so it would be easy to reproduce in all formats and sizes (screen printing, business cards, website, etc).
  • Hi Chris... I tried a different font here, just so that you could see what it would look like. Cheers, Liz
  • Hi Chris, In this one I have taken away the background pattern and changed the circle pattern colours. And tried a different mouth. You can mix and match elements from any of the designs. I am aware now of your restrictions when it comes to embroidery, so I am trying to keep it as simple as possible. Kind regards, Liz.
  • Hi Chris, thanks for your feedback. I have added some fur to her face and chin and a quirky simple mouth, and taken away the gradient in this submission.
  • Tried a simpler design with #19. Hopefully it's more what you had in mind. Thanks for the feedback!
  • Thanks everyone for continuing to provide logo designs. Is it possible to show a design where the dog is a simple visual icon similar to the very basic design like Jake of Life is Good , Teddy the Dog or Pirana Joe. I am not looking a detailed representation of Gracie. Thanks!
  • Hi Liz. Is it possible to add a bit more texture/fur to the face to see where her beard/chin ends and maybe add a line for appearance of a mouth. Also can you make the yellow a solid color instead of gradient ? I like the gradient color but I am not sure how much it will increase my screen printing costs. Thanks, Chris
  • Thanks for your feedback. I can chop and change fonts, backgrounds, colours from each design as you wish! Gracie Bay is cute... my dog also has one sticky up ear, and looks a lot like her! 'Dora la exploradora', she was born in Spain but has just moved back to the UK with us! (maybe a long lost spanish cousin) :) Thanks again and let me know if you want to try anything else. Kind regards, Liz
