Winning design #21 by hollander, Logo Design for HobokenMenus.com Contest
Gold Medal

designed by hollander

Project description

We're a local restaurant directory in Hoboken, NJ that has been around for over 10 years.  We are looking for a new logo for an upcoming site redesign.  The site is hobokenmenus.com, to give you an idea of the how the site works.

We plan on expanding into additional cities, so what we envision the logo having a generic or the same "look" for the "MENUS.COM" piece, but to personalize the city part of the logo.  In this case, the "Hoboken" should contain something that is local to the area (ie landmarks, train station tower, etc)
Update:  The layout or orientation of the logo should horizontal or rectangle to meet the site layout.
Update #2:  We have seen a lot of interesting designs come in and I want to thank each of you all for all the work you have already done.  We're getting close, but not there yet.  We are extending the contest for 7 more days and guaranteeing to pick a winner.  Looking forward to this next round.

    • I live outside US and don't know anything about Hoboken. Do you mind describe local scene or images that you want to incorporated into the logo? Thank you.

    • @joekong Hoboken is located on the west banks of the Hudson river with one of the best views on NYC. The city is less than a square mile and has over 50k people living there. There a huge restaurant scene with over 250 different restaurants to choose from. The History of the city finds it roots with the blue collar worker. The city was a major shipping port in the early 19th century, thousands of cargo ships were loaded and upload there. It has grown from a poor city to a well to do city of recent times. If you do a Wikipedia lookup you will learn more about the city.
