Project description

UPDATE (March 13, 2012) -- It is understandable that many designers are compelled to use a shield to represent our computer security work. However, unless your shield design is superior in some way, it is not going to distinguish your work from others. Please be creative and think outside the box. Even though our job description is to develop custom computer security systems, we are actually in constant battle with the "dark side". Like a real battle, we use whatever (legal) tricks or tactics to reveal the bad guys and expose their weaknesses. We ARE NOT an anti-virus company so we don't just stay in defense mode. We are like a football team -- we do both offense and defense.

DareLab needs a professional and innovative logo to reflect our company's passion. We creates innovative technologies to help our clients to secure their computer systems/networks, identify vulnerability, and test security policies. The logo must be suitable for use on website, business card, and letter head. For the website's version, logo must contains transparent background and suitable for use on light and dark background. For printed logo (business card and letter head), it must be suitable for use on light and dark background. If necessary, multiple version of logo may be designed for different scenario (light/dark background.)

Comments

  • The design will work against a black background without negating it like #14, was only negated because of the words
  • backgrounds are not allowed
  • one design per one entry is allowed
  • one design per one entry is allowed

  • #57 Dear CH... another idea... using shield could represent that DareLab is an IT Security Consulting firm who specialized in designing and developing custom computer and network security software. The Lab icon in the shield, meaning an innovation, DareLab is Dare to innovate
  • #56 Dear CH... revision... have more personality looks, more simple, more recognize thank you so much...
  • #3,#4,#53 Dear CH.. the big dot in the middle is "darelab".shield I means is computer systems/networks.and the big dot hold the shield.so,this logo means darelab will help you to hold your computer systems/networks and make it always secure. sorry,my english not well regard..
  • Please see comment for your another entry.
  • Nice artwork. The shield is a bit too "fat/wide". Do the big dot in the middle and the gap that splits the shield mean anything? No need to include "LLC" in logo. Letters are too tightly packed and probably can use another font.
  • The design is nice but would be great if the "missing cover" actually reveal something meaning. Font is a bit too normal.

  • IMHO, I think the design is a bit on the casual side and probably not suitable for a IT security firm.
  • The design is creative but it also made the "D" and "L" hard to read. Clients can easily misread this as "are" "ab".
  • Please see comment for the similar design you have.
  • The button design is nice. But the font used in the logo is a bit bland. We also prefer to have the company name "DareLab" appears somewhere.
  • The round "button" is nice but the font use for "DL" is a little blend. The placement of the motto "Dare to Innovate" is a little "out of place".
  • The bright color of the word "Dare" makes it a little uncomfortable to look at on light background. Does the big dot on the "D" have any meaning?
  • The bright color of the word "dare" makes it a little difficult to see on light background. The logo is cute, but almost too cute for a security consulting firm.
