Project description

We are a manufacturing company looking to enter into a new market. After designing and manufacturing all new aftermarket gunstocks, we are ready to go to market. The line of gunstocks will be named "Jolly Roger Gun Stocks". We are looking for a logo design utilizing skull and crossbones. Branding and versatility is extremely important with this new logo. It must be unique and present the product line clearly. The logo must look good large or small and be adaptable to different color backgrounds. Logo must be versatile enough to be large or small, from business cards, hats, and t-shirts all the way up to trade show banners. After looking at the entries we thought we should better define what we are looking for. We would like a skull and cross bones that are original to the brand. We are not looking for clip art skull and cross bones. We have in mind something with depth and definition. The skull could look like it was cut out of metal to give a chiseled look. Somewhat of a sinister look on the face. Please no blood and guts. How about a scope cross hairs behind the skull. This needs to be in a circle for the coin. Please no eye patches, hats, or bandanas. Bald skull works for us. Logo will also be used on a 1" coin design that will be embedded in and the signature of each stock.

We are liking the layout of #22. Would like to see it without the ribbons, scale up and change the font. The fonts on #24 look good. The skull on #25 is looking good. Someone needs to put those altogether.

Hi jd1. I've just uploaded #25. I can add more depth and detail if you like the direction it is going in? Thanks, Gary.
  • Hi Jolly Rogers just uploaded #24 any feedback would be appreciated. Hope you like it. Ranksv.
  • Hi jd1~ I created a logo for your consideration that is clean, simple and bold. It will be easily recognized and will reproduce on anything from a business card to a billboard. Hope you like: #23 Cheers, PaintedPony
  • Hi, CH. In this entry I put more luxury and expression! I wonder if it's to your liking.

Looking better. "Gun Stocks" please. Let me see the skull and bones scaled down just a bit. Widen the teeth area and a little more definition.

  • Hi, Thanks for the feedback. I'm working to improve the brand right now. Today I will submit a new entry improved. Sincerely, J.Valadares.

The layout looks good on this one. Skull and bones look flat and somewhat cartoonish. Depth would look good. More 3d looking and a bit smaller would be better. Jolly Roger larger so it would be easy to read.
  • jd1
Would like to see the lettering concentric to the circle. Not liking the bullet hole in the head. How about the end of a brass casing instead of the stars.
    • Upper, lower or both texts need retouching? (concentric to the circle)

      |--| Both concentric. They look distorted and hard to read.

The skull has depth but not thrilled with the look of it. We for sure want bones.
  • Hi, I just submitted my design - #10 . I'd appreciate it if you could tell me if it is a step in the right direction and suited to your needs. I can modify whichever elements are not to your satisfaction
  • If you like #7, let know and I will fix the "O" in "JOLLY". I didn't notice that until after I uploaded it. Thanks
  • jd1
This is a step in the right direction. Although we have a long way to go. This does have one step of depth. Not much definition. Would like to see more. Jolly Roger Gun Stocks is the only writing we would like to have on the coin. I think a smaller font might look a bit better. Thanks for the entries.

The shading of the bones look good. They just seem blurry. If the bones had definition like the skull that would be a plus. Can we change the angle of the bones just a little. Looks like they are 90 deg apart. Can we change so the top and bottom angle would be 100 deg? And the left and right angle would be 80 deg? Almost done.
    • GJR

I've rotated the bones in #45 as requested. I'll work on adding more detail.

    • GJR

I've added more texture and detail to the bones in #48.

    • jd1

There is one more thing I have to see. # 48 with the bottom jaw.

    • GJR

sorry for the delay on this - I didn't get an email notification of your request. I'm working on this now.

  • Hello jd1, a new project than the skull (much more sinister) #51 . Hope you enjoy.
  • Hello CH, this new project using ammunition to form the reticle crosshairs #41 #42 #43. Hope you enjoy.

Thanks for your feedback. I've submitted #39 with the thinner inner ring and #40 with no inner ring. Both designs have the changes to the eyes you asked for. I haven't smoothed out the eyes completely as I think the gnarled look adds to the sinister feel of the skull. You are right though, I think I went a bit over the top to begin with. If you want me to tidy them up more let me know. I'm working on the bones now and still need to do some more on the skull so I'll upload a new version later.
    • jd1

I think if you clean up the bones and shade them a little around the skull to show some depth from the skull to the bones. We do not what the bones to look like they are coming out of the skull.

  • jd1
Let's thin the inner ring. Make the line weight half of what it is.
