Project description

THIS IS TO KINDLY ASK NOT TO WITHDRAW YOUR ENTRIES- WE WILL ANNOUNCE THE WINNER 30.09.2013 or 01.10.2013 LATEST! THANK YOU! 1. Name that we want in our logo: Telis 2. Product description and its target audience: Telis is a mobile call and messaging application for smartphones. Our target audience: any smartphone user who would use our app to make voice and video calls or send text and multimedia messages. With time, we may also add other functionality like games or added features. 3. The top 3 things we want to communicate in our logo are: 1) Call and text anywhere in the world for free. 2) Start using Telis right away! It's super easy! 3) Use Telis to communicate by voice, video, or text message (including group chat) without thinking about details. It's simple to use.; The logo should be all about communication. Dynamic and creative. 4. What we do not want in entries: -WiFi or phone symbols (just the phone symbol, alone); That's everywhere already. We have attached: - a suggested color scheme; - a few logo concept ideas that we've had so far (telisCandidates); - logos of our competitors- we want to be different :)! - look and feel slider (a bit longer than available in this site); Please don't be afraid to experiment. We are looking for polished ideas, but are open-minded. Thank you and good luck!

  • #119: The arrow stylized as a T-letter for your consideration. Thanks...
  • #95: Dear CH please check out my design concept. The icon represents stylized fenugreek leaves, since telis from Latin translates as a fenugreek herb. Each leaf could represent different aspects/directions of your business/the way your app works (voice, text, etc) with different colors. Clean and simple. Could be easily used on different identity items also. Hope you like it. Thanks.
    • Nice! Thank you - great ideas! We like it! Will discuss amongst the team on Monday. Have a good weekend!

    • #117: Dear CH, from other sources "telis" in Latin also means "arrow, darts". It's plural from telum which means thrown weapons. "molle meum levibus cor est violabile telis" - Eng. "my tender heart is vulnerable by his (Cupid’s) light arrows (Ovid)" I think using symbolism of arrows and darts could be better for your new brand identity. Will develop more design concepts for you with them. • Behind the arrows/darts could be developed a nice story for your service. The common associations and keywords could be "lightning fast", "aiming to the target", "sharp and precise", etc etc. Endless branding possibilities

  • Thank you for your work so far! Please don't be afraid to be creative and work on more concepts!New ideas are more than welcome. Please don't use simple phone or WiFi icons, as mentioned in our brief.
    • I'm shocked and frustrated that you see it as "too much like entry 95"... I think they are quite different and that's why I didn't hesitate to submit that design. The CH wants something connected with communication. So I think it's nature to use that kind of shape to create the design. And if #104 and #95 are too much alike, then how about #70 and #92?

    • Hi Moderator, Except for the similar shape of the four circles, what else of my design is too much similar to #95? Can you please explain why I cannot use that shape? Isn't it a normal shape to use? I have no problem to just give up on submitting more designs for the contest, but I do care whether I'm treated fairly here. The reason you mark my design a "problem" still don't convince me. Can you give more explanation? I asked some people around me whether they think the two designs are similar, none said yes.

  • your entry is too much like entry 95 please be original http://www.designcontest.com/logo-design/logo-for-a-mobile-application/entry/104
  • Hi gocemirce, this one is too similar with what we already had, but thank you!
  • Hi gocemirce, this one is too similar with what we already had, but thank you!
  • Hi anoopjais, thanks for your input!Looks a bit too romantic!:)
  • GJR
Hello, I have submitted #99 & #103. I have concentrated more on making the T look nice than following the shape of the megaphone. I hope you like these better. Thanks.
  • Thanks, Barkside! Interesting! Definitely worth exploring in this direction... Maybe just the dish and chat balloon mixed together, without the "T" man? Might look cleaner. ...At least we saw a satellite dish there.
  • Thanks, Satriya. Interesting idea, but too much going on! And please, no wifi symbols, as in the brief.
  • Hi Jeeve, can you give me some feedback for my design? thanks
    • Hi Kwik. We left you some feedback on #36! Thanks for the submissions so far!

    • Thank you for the new ideas! We liked the first one best, so far.

  • GJR, could you experiment more with this idea, please? Also, please use a clean white background! Maybe try making both of the green T's the same shape? Or is it possible to combine the name with the symbol (one "T" symbol for both the name and megaphone image) ?
    • GJR

Thanks for the feedback. I work on some new versions. Thanks.

  • Nice, Neverwinter! Could you please make this one in green instead of orange with the brand name in the same width as the logo?
  • We liked standalone on white better, but nice idea!
  • Tanya, This one seems the most balanced, but could you do with green only for the balloon and perhaps another with gray&green? The font might look better with slightly lighter weight, as well (not smaller, just less bold).
  • Design #80 Hello, here is a simple design with a smart idea it is the letter t with a line under it but it is a face with a smile in a bubble speech the t looks like eyes and a nose... logo works in any color you wish. Please let me know what you need.
  • Hello! Please let me know if you have any thoughts on my revisions submitted today! Thank you!!
  • This looks promising... Maybe rounder, more friendly lines for the "T"?
    • GJR

Hi. Thanks for your feedback. I have submitted #67. I have made the T on the megaphone more pronounced and refined. I have changed the text to make it more friendly and have removed all gradients so you have a flat design. I'm very happy to make changes so if there is anything else you want to see please let me know. Thank You.

  • White background for this one would fit better!
  • Tanya, this is the closest to the one we would keep! Make the light green squares not solid, but with outlines only and with dark green. The font in black and larger, more proportionate to the logo, please!
    • Thank you for all the feedback. I will make all these edits within the next two hours, sorry it can't be sooner but I'm away from my computer right now. I look forward to making these edits and getting closer to what you would like! Thank you !
