Which payment method would you prefer as a designer?
Anyway, also depending on which country you are. Some countries have horrible postal service, so sending check is not a good idea..

Here’s the deal. PayPal is an excellent option for those countries that have the full service, in my country I cannot use it, so in a eventual payment I have to resend the Money to a paypal user on the States, then he has to re-resend it me back to Costa Rica, so in a $300 prize (usually minimum) the cut will be at least of $60 bucks. Plus is having TOO many people joggling around with your money and been a pain in the **** for your friends to being doing you money movements abroad your country. Uff, is almost to much.
So, paypal is great!, but there are a lot of countries than don’t have the full service.
If a have to choose a service, I go for moneybookers, the cheapest fee option. Then WU (works great in Costa Rica) but the fees are ridicules (10% cut).
But if I have to choose, please use wire Bank transfers (save, almost free, clean, and you don’t have to move anywhere). That’s my best way to go. Every country has a International bank entity.
Thanks for this post, pretty helpful for all users.
