I've read quite a lot on canvas but i've noticed in contests that sometimes, there are entries with flat color and black&white, and sometimes no or just B&W.

So is it really required ? and is it possible to know the exact purpose of flat color and B&W ...

it's not a big deal , but It's good to know , thank you.

B&W purpose is obvious , it's for black and white printing, but i'm not so sure about flat colors too.

That's what I thought too, as you say B&W make sense for printer, but I still don't get the flat color one ...

Thanks for the question. It is not a requirement to include a flat or b&w version. However, there are applications where both versions will be nice to have for the CH. For example, the flat version could be used for embroidery, certain types of screen printing, or vinyl cutout signage.

Many times, designers will create a full color logo and include the same logo in only 2 or 3 colors in the flat area.

But, this is not required.

It is important to note, though, that any artwork in the black/white area of the canvas should only be solid black and solid white - no grayscale!

So basically , it's a way to show different artwork from the same logo : detailed, flat and B&W to the CH ... good to know, thank you, very helpful.
