50 or more characters can sometimes be too wordy and/or unnecessary. There are times when all I want to do is type a short, concise message, but am met with an error message telling me I need more characters. I understand the initial reasoning for this, but at times it just gets in the way

Edit: I know this minimum restriction is mostly to avoid really short messages like "ok" or "sure" etc., but if the limit can be decreased to maybe 20-25 characters, it would still solve the potential short msg issues, but it still allows for short but precise communication when needed

that 50 character min was set to stop designers from asking for feedback in comments as much. The comments were filled with entry number and feedback please so we set the character min to 50 that slowed the feedback begging to a snails pace. This 50 character limit will not change. Sorry

What about changing it for one-on-one contests?

The 50 character is set for all comments in contests and 1on1 projects. This may change with our new site release coming up not sure on that but the 50 character min is extremely important to keep. If that was not there the comments section in contests would be a nightmare of feedback please, I will mention the 1on1 projects and see if it can be changed for that

Makes sense. I still remember those "hi ch plz cmt on #43" comments. Thanks for passing this on to the devs.

How about write comments like "OK....................................................................................................................." ;)
If seriously for me personally it is not good to keep 50 character min in any comment, but it has sense and we must understand for why it is here at DC site.
