Hello people,I'm from Greece and I'm finishing my 2 year "applied arts" studies at a public institution.Aside from many difficulties in my country (including problems with institutions like the one I'm attending :p )i'm quite excited about trying my luck and skillset in such a way!I'm simultaneously working on photography and IT (mostly programming).

A thing I'd like to ask is,does anyone here work regularly on paper?Aside from teaching us how to use applications like Corel/AI/Photoshop/InDesign,the teachers have been making a fair effort to teach us to use conventional means.
I'm not only talking about basic sketches or mockups, but also final products on paper like Schoeller with rapidographs and markers. What if I have a great idea designed on paper, how would I go about transferring it successfully into a digital format?

To transfer it to a program you'd need to scan it in or just draw with a tablet that's hooked up to you PC or Mac.

Hi there FunkyFisch and welcome to DC, I bet there is a lot of designers that uses paper to draw ideas.
I was using paper till recently I bought wacom.
So if I need some sketch I open ArtRage4 and draw it there. It can be done direct in Illustrator, sometimes I draw it there directly, but ArtRage have more natural feeling and it acts more like pen and paper so its fun also :)

Hi Funkyfisch, I used to use paper but now use my wacom tablet. Good luck with the contests, you will learn a lot here : )
