Your logos aren't bad, though of course there is space for improvement. I hope our community can help you to learn more!

Your comment about my work got to me. I usually get noting but praise. Not bad, basically means ok. I am not ok with ok. I have been a designer for 15 years, it is who i am. I even went to Yale school of design in switzerland. I consider myself a logo expert and maybe you will now. You made me work all day going through all my files and organizing my website. I still have alot of stuff hiding on cd's somewhere.

I would actually like to thank you for that. You got me motivated, i am always busy, its hard to do it all. I am not a cocky jerk my an means, i just know i am better than ok.

I ran an art magazine in Taiwan for few years, it got to be too much work. I might start it up again later. The reason i found your site is, my friend and i were talking about starting a logo contest website, similar to this site, but a little different. I looked to see if anyone had done this idea yet, and your site came close. After reading and looking, I wanted to participate in your site instead, i cant do it all. I design clothes, sell photos, do websites, and lots of other stuff.

Logos are my favorite thing to design. So i put the time into prove myself, the link i sent before was a few years old.

Please take a look at the logos i added, and logo pages, i don't think many people can do over 100 ideas for one logo, i can.

I am still waiting to make the design team, i hope i make it soon, i keep watching good contests go by.

thanks

Hi Hack:)
first rule as logo designer (esp. on this site) be open to ALL critique......;)
I would put less in your portfolio(WOW, 100 comps for 1 logo, I'd just put the final design:)) I really liked your forkers and jammin' logos....but felt there was TOO much, and some of your great work gets buried.
There are alot of great designers here, I am constantly inspired by everyone here, and since joining the designteam, I've grown as a designer:) For me, my design is constantly evolving, growing, I can always improve.:)

Thank You
i am always open
it is my fault for posting an unfinished portfolio, i asked for it

i didnt say i couldnt learn from anyone, that part i agree with
everyone can always learn more
i know sometimes we think we know it all
but i know that is never the case
each new situation creates a new problem

when i moved to taiwan i had to learn how to design in chinese
pretty crazy seeing i cant understand it
still learning

there is alot of logos on my site
good stuff might get lost
but i like to show the grow process of a logo
each job is different
you can watch them grow
i haven't seen that on a website like that
and i like to be different
i design 8 logos at a time usually
8 is lucky for me
clients might even expect me to do 50 logos for them
and i probably will
cause i love it
i get so addicted

i did separate the final logos from the logo pages
alot of the time the client doesn't pick my favorite
and the client is the boss
for example
creative kitchen,
the logo she picked is one of my least favorites

but as we all know
our tastes are all different
another reason i do so many logos
i like to come from many different angles
to feel like i really nailed it

thanks again

I am starting to like this forum thing.
I haven't really participated in something like this before.
I have entered contests and stuff, but not a design community.

Now that i feel i know a little more about this
I would like to properly introduce myself

My name is Todd Hackwelder, but everyone call me Hack.
I am from Syracuse New york.
I am 32 years old.
I knew i wanted to be a designer when i was 16 years-old
I took a advertising class and said i want to do this.
I have worked hard at it ever since.
I received a BFA in graphic design and a minor in photography
from Fredonia State University in New York
I went to the Yale school of design summer program in Brissago, Switzerland.
If anyone else went there , please tell me, it was intense.
After university I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina
I worked for CBS and Fox designing news graphic for a few years
Then to Sydney, Australia to work for some big names, Nestle, Friskies, AMP
Then I moved to Taiwan to visit a friend and haven't left yet
I have been here 6 years designing teaching and exploring.

I ran an art magazine here for a few years
It was also a community, we just self published our art
and gave mags away from free
www.discontinuedmag.com

thank you all for your time
peace
hack
