I think he means to make it better posted when a contest is closed? Like the icon with the lock on it...
Maybe not.. anyways.. if it helps any, just jump to the last topic in the thread (especially if its a few pages long) before reading the entire thing. That way you will be able to see if its closed or open.
also, be sure to check the deadline in the first post. That should also give you an indication of whether its closed or not.
