THIS IS SO INFURATING, I JUST SPENT 8 HOURS on designing a graphic for someone...and when I was finished they blocked me and logged of their Aim account..Why do people like that exist, what are their problems? This incident is making consider reformatting my computer witout backing up anything...and forgetting about photoshop...WHY?????

Don't be afraid. Just work more for yourself. Those people are not worth to spend a lot of time though...

Yeah..I get that ever-so-often. That's why I started taking a non-refundable downpayment and refuse to do anything until that tiny bit of cash is sitting in my account. It saves me from wasting my time on people who choose to change their mind at the last minute. -_-

well like gydian says, start to design for people only when a down payment is made, this makes it much easier on you, and if they do decide to run you at least have some money for the time you spen on the design..

Going through with it, of course. I tried it back in the feudal age and I had been hooked on phonics ever since.

You gotta love that dont you, I've had a few of the same encounters. It's greating wasting your time building a graphic then trying to show it to them and they act like they dont know what your talking about.

Having a downpayment is really the way to go. After showing clients a rough mock up design, I will get them to accept my services by sending me 50% of the total price. That way, if the client does dissapear, I still got something for it.

...In agreeance here too --- except, I don't do a mockup for a client without 1/2 down - my port (and the mass of templates/mockups for contests) that I have done are good enuff proof of my abilities... therefore, if they like my style, and want me to work - they pay first. Too many mistakes made such as this in my eight years in biz --- now I have a method to my madness LOL

Hang in there :D
