Just check out how google main page is being managed, a nice fade in/out effect.

What do you think about it?

i dont think its a good idea. It takes to long to appear the other links. Made me think it was a bug or slow loading :p

I think it is very google. In a good sense. I think this is how they started and what brough them success. Search is what they do best. I love their other projects too, but I think they should keep things to the point.

The fade in/out works nicely, but I don't really see the point of using such an effect on their main page other than style.

I dont think its a good idea. It takes to long to appear the other links.

I have to agree with ZukiH, users wanting more options may get frustrated if they have to wait for the links to appear.

I personally don't see any value in having the fade-in. Google has done a great job keeping things simple and to-the-point. Their page is still refreshingly clean after many years. Adding that effect neither adds to or distracts from what they already have.

i still think there is too little to start the fading out, but google always had minimalistic ideas so it not to flood the screen with a ton of info but still the fading had me confused until i found what it was.

I dont like the updates about the images in google, i like the old style. I think it's takes more time to showing all the images you search...
About the fade, ithin indepence of the connection speed.
If you have a great connection you see very fast...
