Illustrator ftw. I've seen beautiful work done on both but Illustrator cannot be matched in terms of it's functionality and compatibility with other Adobe products like Photoshop, Flash, and Bridge. Vector perfection.

Well, if all I had to choose between was Corel & Adobe software's, I would choose Adobe. I Honestly like both and Corel even renders in adobe extensions which makes it a hard choice since the biggest obstacle is that adobe extensions are more viewed as industry standards due to the size of it's user base.
When it comes to software's though, it really comes down what a designer is most comfortable using and if the end result is truly ideal for the clients needs.
If I'm not limited between corel and adobe, then I would choose Serif software's. Matter of fact, my primary vector software is Serif DrawPlus x4 and I have been using serif products working on 6 years now. I still own adobe illustrator cs3 as my secondary vector solution, however I'm just a die hard serif user. to each there own though, as you normally won't find 2 seasoned designers that do everything the same, we all develop our own ways of doing things with different tools.
