Anyways, I took some time and finally created something I like! Please check out the new version of penguinpedia.com and let me know what you think. Not all links are working yet, so be patient.

On a side note: I am looking for a couple people who would like to join the Penguinpedia staff. I would love to have a PHP developer on hand, as well as someone who can cut up and code my photoshop mockups from time to time. I would of course pay you to do this, so if you are interested please send me a PM.

but the 'penguinpedia'
in the top right logo bit
looks a bit jagged around the edges.

Jak: The logo is intended to look that way. Antialiasing is not present on any of the text on the website. It is an effect I like to use.
Browncat: As jgaylor mentioned, the lack of balance between the corner and the curve makes the site a little more interesting. The large curve is also supposed to emulate the curve in the blue/green of the logo, as I am trying to create a sense of flow between the two.

That works with the menu but not really with the logo I don't feel.

Contrast idea is good and large curve is nice. I think the upper left does not look right. I think if you put a right angle there the contrast would be better.

I don't think its enough exaggeration to where one could defind it as style. Whenever I see anything less smoother whether I'm viewing sites or making them, I automatically get that unprofessional feeling of newbish design.
Maybe its just me. www.pixelbobby.com/v7 (under construction)
