Hey, I’ve been asked to design a site for a rock band and I'm thinking of using Flash as lots of bands use it on their sites. I have a little experience with it but never anything as big as a site. Is it possible to create an image in Photoshop and then use Flash to animate different parts etc, or would it be better doing it all in Flash? If anyone could give me any resources or anything on this subject I would really appreciate it.

Thanks
Andy

from experience - it would be better to do it all in flash. Certain elements such as bevelled backgrounds, patterns or basic interface design could be done in photoshop and them imported over.

Andy, you must understand the basic difference between Photoshop and Flash - PS works with bitmap and Flash works with vector images. You can use bitmap images made in photoshop as backgrounds in Flash presentation, but for animation you will need to create images in Vector based program such as Macromedia Flash itself or any other like Freehand or Illustrator.

you can also save files into png format like transparent images and then import them. They wont be more terrible than bitmap though. But i suggest using fireworks to do your designing if your thinking about doing flash.
