I like it, it works fine (great when you consider tv logos are always covering up the bottom corner of the screen). I think it's a way that shows a logo can work even without a "story" behind it. Stories are AWESOME but not always required.
(or am I mistaken and there is a story/reasoning behind the negative space/overall logo?)
