In CS6 you can; I don't use this version of Photoshop but I'm pretty sure it's almost similar to how strokes in Illustrator works. Someone here who uses CS6 can answer that better than me.
If you're using Cs5.1 and earlier, there are 2 main ways:
1. Select your path > Edit >Stroke...
2. In the paths menu (see picture below) click that button and your path will have a stroke based on which tool you currently have active e.g. brush tool, pencil tool, etc.
