Adobe Illustrator Tutorial

I usually use photoshop in making logos because PS is easy to use for me, I also have Adobe illustrator but I am not expert in using it. I want to learn more about Illustrator. When I make a circle shape in illustrator, I don't know how to cut the circle into half. I know it's easy for those who know how to use Illustrator. Hope someone will show me how to do that.. hehehehehehe
