Hi everybody!

Our new Community Contest is about Halloween! The Pumpkinhead Postcard!!

Keyword: The Pumpkinhead

Mission: Make a postcard.

Max. # of entries: 3 per member

Limitations: You can decide the proportions of your postcard as you wish but please keep the width of your postcard max 600 px.

Deadline: October 30th, 2006

Notes: As you may know, now registered users can upload files up to 50kb. So we would like to see the entries attached to the posts so that they are seen within the thread and not just links.

Prizes:

Winner will get a DC T-shirt with free worldwide delivery shipping.

Winner of this contest will be the last winner to be voted in our monthly Community Contest Winners Poll which will start at the beginning of November for the winners of October and September. We believe that this contest leaves a lot of space for creativity and winner of this especially has good chances to win the monthly $ 100. :)

If you win three Community Contests you will be accepted to the Design Team directly.

Political and Religion subject matter should not be presented in an ill or offensive manner.

It’s free to give feedback to the designers in Community Contests!

Good Luck!

It's out of place, I'll submit my entry this week, seen as I missed the last contest.

Joseph, you are doing great :) Good beginning. Let's consider this "simplistic approach" :D

and yes... simplistic it is...

execution is a little on the sloppy side, i spent more time researching whether mad, or anyone else, had used this idea elsewhere... apparently not. is this allowed, anyway? using an inspired idea...?

can i replace this with a better done version later?

questions:
do i need to place the entries in a format? watermark it?
am i allowed to place a © message on entries?
am i asking questions in the wrong place? if so, where do i go?

We have a 3 submission per designer rule, but it's OK to make revisions on your submitted concepts.

Watermark? If you think there's a need to do that, you can. But usually we don't watermark designs here. Watermark isn't very effective to avoid ripoffs as many people think.

©? If you want you can..

You can send me a private message for your questions.

thanks seawise...

i'll store up my third entry for a more creative period...

i personally don't like watermarks, but have seen that it's a norm at many places...

i don't mind if people use my stuff, but have always used a © thingy, just so i get credited... if they want to remove it, they're free to... of course, the last retard who ripped textual content of a site i'd done was hounded by me for a week until he took it off...

any graphics can be stolen, no matter if it is watermarked or not - this is the bad thing, the good thing that once you post your work here you can always refer to it as being the original. The date and time when the post made is recorded and the administration of DC can prove that the records have not been changed. But the decision to use watermarks or not is up to you :)

i'll still go with no watermarks... there was this custom among the people of tonga, where nobody locked their doors, ever. they believed that if someone wanted something of yours so badly that he would steal, let him have it. likewise, for my work. :D

and if i ever need to shame a thief into admitting he stole work... i will be resorting to you, resurepus.
