Hi,
I think there should be a notification system in website that will show a notification whenever a contest holder post a comment about design or rate or any general comments about the project. What we receive as a mail it should be viewed on the top of website as something like linkedin or facebook offer

I just opened forum to post that.
Glad to see the work in action.
It would speed up the browsing website-user interaction would become more effective.

does it appear only when there is a notification? Do we get notifications from forum too if somebody posts on the same thread as we did?

you do if you have marked this in your settings. You have to check the box in your settings to receive email notices from the forum

It would be nice to have notifications here on DC to, not only by email.
Some icon in top corner by "Logout" or somewhere visible, to notify us about new comment from CH, when we get points for our entry or when our entry is removed
