Design Proposal

Hello Ladies and Gents,

I am at a lost and I am wondering if some of you all could offer me some help. What I need help with is writing an effective proposal to be awarded a freelance project. Whether it is for this site or other freelancing sites. I have searched the web and they are all for this long drawn out 12 page proposal but I know on the various sites that a client is not going to sit there and read all that...You know? So I am hoping to get some advice or tips or some kind of direction so I can be more successful at landing a project. Thanks in advance for any responses.
