Is there a way of having CHs aware of coding being extra or a separate cost/project/contest when filling out briefs for design contests?

Please let me know your thoughts; I'd like to enter a contest to design but not when coding is required as part of the price money. ...Thought this was a design contest holding site...

My understanding is that website and mobile app contests only cover the design aspect of the project. One of the admin can clarify but if you want to code the website yourself, that can be done as a separate project via a one-on-one

I think the admin should contact them to clarify.

CH holder, Crystalplex contest, commented me: "Yes, this needs to be HTML, CSS, and JavaScript ready, in order to drop on a server without any additional work. That should be included in the contest."

Then put on the brief: "This contest/project is NOT just for a Photoshop mock-up!! That I can do myself. I need it to be HTML, CSS, and JavaScript ready to immediately put on a web server, without any additional coding."

Sharie, you are right though, I saw on the website that only designs would be submitted for website design contest, without coding, at that you would help the CH with pricing starting at $199 for coding as a separate project one-on-one.

Could you let the CH holder know that coding cannot be expected from the participating designers, only design files, such as Photoshop, and not to expect coded files at close of contest?

Noticed that you told the CH about only submitting designs; however, seems, one designer could code and is the only one participating (perhaps offering to code the design submission); again, seems unfair to other designers who would have, including myself, like to have had the opportunity to enter.

The brief has not changed either...that's why I didn't submit; plus the CH asked now what and seemed to still think that coded designs should be submitted. This is not the first time...surely besides whats written on the site should have something else the CH can see that only designs are submitted before creating a contest and brief? Otherwise, other designers will take advantage of coding skills and just do the design with code to win the contest, excluding other designers from participating.

@janedoe if I were you I would submit a design either way, if you still want to participate. The whole coding aspect can be taken care of afterwards. It's the CH's fault since it clearly states that the prize only covers the design layout
