Similar design for different contest

Hi DC,

I'm new here, I hope I'm not violate any rules by posting this topic. since I've been reading some topics about infractions, and I want to be really careful about it,so I got some question from myself.

Did I violated the rules? 

1. If I post a design and it's being eliminated or withdrawn, and I modified it for another contest?

2. If my design doesn't win or rated on a contest, and I use it for another contest?

3. If my design was rated and I make a similar design for another contest?

Welcome to DC. There is one rule that answers all these questions:

"You may not use the same entry in more than one open contest."

To be more precise:

1. You must withdraw your design to be able to use it in another contest. If the CH eliminates it you can't re-use it, because he can still change his mind and rate or even choose your design as the winning one.

2. If the CH chooses a design and the contest is closed then you are free to submit your design in another contest. If it's not rated you must withdraw it first.

3. You are not allowed to submit similar designs in two (or more) open contests.
