I'm new and looking for critics!

Hi all, my name's Kevin. I just recently found this website and the first thing I checked out were the contests, one of which I entered. Since apparently you can't critique submissions in contest threads, I was hoping to get some feedback here.

It's a very simple design. I'm not great with coding layouts...nowhere near some of the awesome stuff I see from other members...and I just started working with Photoshop about a year ago.

Hey Kevin, your site isn't bad - but its nothing spectacular either. I have two suggestions for you:

1) You should try using a more lively font in page headers (Nav, News, Demo, Full). I think it would make it look more intersting.

2) Add something more to the side-bar. To me it looks plain. It would be cool if you could somehow incorporate another picture of the guy with the gun underneath your menu, almost as if it blends in with the site.

Why yes they were, thank you. I had given the menu a lot of thought - it looked even more boring than it does now - but I couldn't come up with anything great. Thanks for your ideas though!
