Well as you all know and for those of you who don't, I posted some material here that was way out of line and absolutely unprofessional. Just wanted to take some time to show my respects for this site. I have already apologized to those that I offended directly and now I just wanted to apologize to all that may have been offended by my post. It was very negative and I can assure you that my work is nothing but positive. I find my creative power through a positive source and I find that in this site. I have registered under the username freaknlink and posted some designs which I got the same kind of response from the contest holders that I did from ShaneLinkcom. However I again was kicked out. So as you can see I am a reflection of my work and not my words. I would like to get some input from others concerning this matter and would appreciate it if I could continue to post my work under the username ShaneLinkcom (www.shanelink.com/). This site has some highly creative individuals and I enjoy viewing all the work here. So I will end again with apologies.

INCREASE THE PEACE!

I think this thread says it all. What was said in the past is in the past, but that does not mean that those things should be forgotten. The way you handled yourself was unprofessional and disrespectful. By your bickering you made the forum actually seem "unprofessional". The true side came out of you as it is now.

After your suspension, you realized how important DesignContest actually really was to you, but did that teach you a lesson, No! You decided to create multiple accounts knowing that your account was suspended. You could have just taken the suspension seriously and came back to DesignContest with a fresh start. If you had taken that road you would not have to be "pleading" your case for "forgiveness." Instead you decided to take the wrong route and try to force your way back in, again seeming very "unprofessional." Your "apology" does not appeal to me, and is clearly in thought of you and only you. The thing that really gets me is a couple minutes after your second account is suspended you decide to create another account. Then you have the nerve to comment on your own design!

Nice work freaknlink!!!
.
.
.

It just seems that you are trying too hard. And time after time, you are essentially still disrespecting the admins and users of DesignContest.

Your apology in this case is no apology. It shows that you are desperate and will do anything to get back into DesignContest.

. I have registered under the username freaknlink and posted some designs which I got the same kind of response from the contest holders that I did from ShaneLinkcom. However I again was kicked out. So as you can see I am a reflection of my work and not my words.

And yet again, you still do not understand. No matter what work you submit, your account was suspended, that is why your second one was.

I just hope that everyone else in this forum realizes who and how you really are. When Resurepus gets back I'm sure he'll straighten this all out. I personally wouldn't let you back, but thats not my decision, but hey, you asked for my input, you got it:)

I agree 100% blazen, he apoligized in PM before his ban of shanelinkcom, and I said I accept and continued with if he thought the site could improve then he should talk to admin about it. His next response was a VERY unprofessional picture. And words I will not mention.

Blaming seems to be done way too much, if you dog dies you don't burn your neighbors house down.

You ask someone for forgiveness and turn around not 2 minutes later and do even worse?

That is totally insane!

I am not saying he is untalented, but I would say I would not do business with him. You never know if it is going to be your house he is burning down next.

Thanks for your input. Bottom line is that its all about the money. If I am recognized for my skills and not my words then mission accomplished. That was the only point I was trying to make. I like a good competition and I am highly competative in everything that I do. I expressed some words concerning a contest where I felt some of my work was used as a reference or inspiration towards a design that was chosen at the last minute over mine. I see it here alot. Its not just my work. Let me add that I felt it was not necessary to post a photo of Einstein with his tongue sticking out as a sign of na na na na na....you know what I mean. So I childishly took that to the next level by posting a photo of my own na na na na na...I did not instigate the situation however I just reacted in a way that I felt was cleverly creative however way out of line as I said before. So judge me as you may again the bottom line is that we all work for money, and if there is oppurtunity to make money doing something that I enjoy and find I am rewarded for then more power to me. That is the definition of a contest. You'll see more positive influence and compliments on my behalf from this post on out. Thanks.

... to apologize for my behavior on my posts under the username ShaneLinkcom. First of all I did not feel that you copied my work because as you had mentioned there was a certain expectation for that paticular character to begin with. Lets just say that I acted unprofessional due...

If you said it on a PM to me and still thinking the same, (besides the explanation i gave you on the thread Blazen refers to) i cant help you understand it.

And about Einstein picture, i told you that it will bring the best or worst from you. You picked the worst and wrong. And i agree that someone can be recognized by their work, but here that wasnt the point. We were talking about something totally different.

And finally, because theres nothing left after Blazen and Poprocks posts, i just wonder (btw, not that i needed and answer) why u didnt ask for appologizes when you got the chance under your second ID on the forum? Anyway, good luck in your future!

Well Shane I guess what got me most was I was the holder of the contest, I asked you to talk to me regarding your character many times, ruben came along and showed something I liked and was worried of your character always looking the same thats all, nothing more. If we had talked it may have worked out differentally.

But as the contest holder I also never did anything against you, I didnt create or even know of the Einstien post you were refering to when you sent me the picture.

If it was just a response to the person that did it in their PM then ok maybe, but to an innocent person? And a person that if I didnt get that reaction could have still been cash to you in the future on another project?

Also as a contest holder I like the interaction of the forum, if people can go in a certain direction from what others have said then great, it means a better over-all product. I think the forum is NOT like the "real world" that way, it is more like lets say those new website where "people compete for business". Which makes this better in alot of ways then going to a designer here locally.

I am not sure what the deal was with Einstein but the character I picked looks nothing like him except a white coat.

http://www.run-2.com...aintickler6.htm was the winner with some stuff redone but looks nothing like any that I saw from you shane.

Poprocks. I had expressed that I had problems with my modem and internet connection. That was one of the reasons behind not contacting you directly however I also felt that I spend enough time working on this character and all the different approaches that I should just wait until the final decision was made before I invested anymore time with this project. I had to post through my account on a work computer until my system at home was back up and running correctly. I am ususally more effective in that general area keeping in touch with clients and supplying more work. I am some what new to this whole online contest community and I have noticed that my efforts on past contests have been overlooked and some of those contest abandoned or went on for months. So that lead to my decision to wait patiently until my work was chosen. I can assure you that once I invest time in a project I can carry that project out and market that design so that there is a positive result out of the work. I am still puzzled why I was the only one you showed interest in from the beginning of the project and you requested that I take different approaches with the character then only to find that you felt that it was to repetative in overall look and feel, when you had never requested that from the other entries. Then awaiting my post for the side profile which I had to qucikly throw together, I was discouraged and confused why my attempts where not rewarded, however the price was increased and rewarded to a last minute post to a character that I felt at that moment was a refelction on my approach. When you never got the overall feel of that design either. You didn't request to see any other approaches with that design to see if it was going to work in future projects. I would of liked to see that just out of curiousity. So hopefully no hard feelings. I only sent you that photo of the finger as I assumed that you seen the Einstein photo post. We all know what happens when we assume. "ASS" out of "U" and "ME".

Ruben@Run - First of all the photo post was unneccesary as your probably should agree. I had only made posts that reflected what I felt about how this site operates and I had only at the moment sent Poprocks a PM that was really rude on my part. I had mentioned that I felt I was cheated because I was the only one requested to apply more direction towards my work when you however had a cake walk. Espcially when my work was camera art ready and yours was a simple marker sketch. Trust me I know that I could of put togther some quick thumbnails with pen and ink or marker and never had got the some response that I get, and you know once you take that character to the next stage there as some minor character adjustments that you can not get on that sketch to computer generated artwork. You had mentioned yourself that you do not illustrate that you work with a team of 3. I do all my work from design to web to marketing to well everything in general. I never had anything against you really you just made it out to be that way. So I was a little disgusted when I seen the photo that you posted and the response that you got from others. Its not funny and its not professional at all. So in retaliation I posted a quick photo of my hand. My apologies. In ending, I registered as another user to only prove a point that my work is recognized, and professional along with my manner. So I didn't feel that I wanted to apologize until that point was made. I wish you success in all that you do in your future work. INCREASE THE PEACE!

Blazen - I don't see where you fall into this argument. You can post whatever you feel about me, if you feel threatened by my skill then so be it. However you should just mind your own business really. Not once had I said anything to you so why should I waste my time explaining anything to you. I mean that in the best way. If I offended you by my remarks towards this site then get over it. You are not the judge in this decision and should remain silent. I know that I asked for feeback, however I didn't expect anything personal from you. Just general thoughts. Again INCREASE THE PEACE!

The pic wasnt unnecessary because was related to my argument, the source for my team inspiration. And if you choosed to make a vector art, was your choice. Ours was to make sketches, considering that Poprocks stated "Deadline for at least a sketch that I like is 3-17-04".

And excuse me, but here we are not talking about me being unprofessional (posting that it wasnt, your answer and later reactions were). Again, was your choice.

Finally, next time you want to prove a point, you just need to read previous threads and you will see how contest hosts recognized your work, my work and others members works.

Again you were not recognized until the last pages and was never requested to take that character to different stages. How he arrived to the conclusion that your design was goin to work in different scenes without first seeing some more examples is still puzzling me. What does he look like from the side view...put him on a rowing machine sweating in gym clothes and lets see brain freeze. If you are truly dedicated to this character then by all means lets see it. I am truly interested in seeing how that goes..and lets do it in the next day. Again I have nothing personal against you at this point I would just like to see the talent. I am really over it. I know my talent and I will have no problems in the future getting recognized in that area. My only intention here is to get all my apologies out. Get the username ShaneLinkcom back up and posting my work to make more money $$$$$$. Lesson learned.

LOL Shane... let me explain you: a thread is for example "Apologies from ShaneLinkcom" and each reply is considered a post. So when i refer to a thread i was talking about other threads from other contests. Just to help you understand the meaning. I wasnt pointing Mascot Desing's thread or posts.

And about how Poprocks arrived to the conclusion.... well, ask him. And if im or not dedicated to the character, the only one able to answer that is Poprocks. We supposed to just make a deal of only $ 100. I will just tell you that we had make a whole deal with more money on it. And if you want to see how the character goes, that remains property of Poprocks so ask him. Thats the way i work in real life: i not reveal my work or details of it unless permission of my client.

But then again, the main reason why we are talking here is about you and your reaction as ShaneLinkcom, ur ban, ur newly created Freaknlink, also banned and finally you appologizing. Thats all.

Shane I did like yours from the beginning like you said, the problem is it seemed "simple", meaning I could draw it without being an artist BUT I didn't have the idea and I could by no means make it look good in color on the computer. Again I did like it.

The reason I asked for "brain freeze" was to see Imagination, turning him blue didn't work at all. That was the start of the down hill. Again hoped for shivering, teeth chattering, arms crossed etc etc. I was afraid I was only buying him for his "front looking face"

So almost decided against it there.

Then asked for rowing machine....that helped alot, back in the running......but again is this guy ever going to stop looking right at me??? If I wanted him surfing would he always be standing facing front? So thats why I asked about the side view.

At that point the side view honestally scared me. Case closed on that. That did it for me.

Ruben showed umm, 5? 6? different examples of totally different characters in different situations so I knew he could do other things with it. And none had a circle head.

Don't you see how I was worried? Maybe that you couldn't draw a head other then a circle? Or the hands being deformed? These were things in my head, I didnt know you, or what you could do.

I also stated many times sketches are fine, I didn't want to take alot of peoples time if it wasn't going to work.

Any other questions, just ask.

That was the response that I expected. If I was on the other end here and someone wanted to see what I had so show just out of curiousity I would of stepped up to prove that I was truly rewarded for my efforts with a certain character. So thanks for giving me that conclusion. My point again is made. The reason that I asked because I was asked to help create a line of designs and possibly a website out of all of this possibly for marketing tshirts. I know how people request things and they don't go through with them so I am clear on that point now. I have nothing further to add. Looking forward to future contests.

golden example of the little things that will hold this site down. Please oh Please admins do something about this type of behavior. Ban his IP if you really want him out. I am jumping in not about this incident in particular just about my general concerns (see my thread in "Mods Only"). This type of stuff only hurts the big picture. In a sense it helps me personally because I have gotten a few clients because of the un-professionalism (as others have too) but I would like to see all of these design contest forums flourish. DO runs like a well oiled machine and so does DS maybe the admins should mimick what is going on there so we can get on with the show.

Sorry to thread hi-jack.....:(
